Quinta das Casuarinas has, for over 25yrs has been our beautiful, spacious, comfortable first or second home. It has a wonderful feeling of privacy and seclusion, being set in its own grounds of 3 acres. The southerly panoramic views are towards the village of Portelas, Falfeira, the historic old town of Lagos and the sea where there are miles of beautiful sandy beaches, only 2 miles away. Bougainvillea, morning glory, oleander and acacia grow abundantly around the villa. There are many covered, shaded areas for escaping the midday sun - one of which overlooks the huge securable pool terrace - providing seating for supervision of young children and an area for alfresco dining with a BBQ. Looking west there are further covered areas (just outside the 2nd sitting-room ) - a second dining area plus a comfortable outside 'sitting-room' from which to enjoy your morning coffee or evening drinks with a view of the garden and setting sun. Many beautiful golf courses are within easy driving distance. Plus surfing only a 1/2 hour drive away.Coast/Beach Lots of wonderful beaches very nearby - On Meia Praia you can walk or run for several miles. Windsurfing, sailing, water skiing and jet skiing all available. Plus great beach bars for a drink,a meal or a snack.

Lagos(2 miles from the villa) is a beautiful, walled town full of lovely old buildings and is steeped in history. There is a mass of bars, restaurants and interesting little shops. The local produce market offers a huge choice of fish, flowers and fresh fruit, and it is still possible to eat a simple seafood meal with wine for around 10Euros per head. Surfing: wonderful, sandy, surfing beaches on the West Coast which would remind you of the Cornish north coast with the exception of the weather! Here there is glorious sunshine, cooling breezes and fewer people.
On Saturday mornings there is a farmers market where you can buy locally grown produce - some of it organic ( this is by the bus station ).
On the first Saturday of the month Lagos holds a large market selling every thing you can imagin. This is held by the roundabout on the east side of the town. (Morning only). Tennis can be played at The Boa Vista Golf Course on the west side of Lagos - driving towards Luz.

"Fabulous Villa - perfect for a large group"
We brought 9 family and friends to the villa for a week. High up on the hill side it is so spacious, so well equipped and so lovely especially the pool. Very near to Lagos and lots of nice beaches. We had an amazing holiday and would recommend it to all. I would also commend the owner, friendly, personable, efficient and very easy to deal with - made all the difference. We hope to return one day !

"A lovely place for a holiday"
We had a great holiday at Quinta das Casuarinas, and would all like to return. The villa is plenty big enough, we had 7 adults and 3 children, aged 1, 4 and 5. The pool is lovely and we spent a huge amount of time in it. Lots of places to sit, read, watch, eat etc outside, so we could have sunshine or shade whenever we wanted. The garden is lovely, lots of beautiful and interesting plants. The villa is very well equipped , clean and tidy. A short trip into Lagos and many other small fishing villages and beaches further west.

"Excellent and homely accommodation"
I stayed at this beautiful Villa last week with some friends who actually booked the holiday so I had no idea where I was staying. What a lovely surprise. The accommodation was superb, very clean, very spacious bedrooms and lovely bathrooms/shower rooms which looked newly re-furbished, mostly en-suite bedrooms too with lovely views of the pool or garden. The Villa was well stocked with everything to make the stay comfortable. I have never know such a well-equipped Kitchen. There were lots of different sitting out areas to catch the sun at different times of the day and a beautiful pool area with wonderful views. Excellent location to Lagos, just 2 km out of town with a small village close by to walk to. I can highly recommend this luxury Villa.

"A wonderfully, memorable experience."
My husband and I travelled with our two sons, their wives and 3 grandchildren. The villa is spacious, comfortable and homely, and because it is so spread out, over one floor, there is quite a lot of privacy. Everything you could possibly need is in the villa so we had to drag ourselves away to the beach, but that was well worth the car journey, as was Lagos for the chid friendly restaurants and interesting streets. The supermarkets are good. The little ones just loved the pool and the extensive grounds, where they played for hours safely, and later the adults relaxed, each evening, around the table by the BBQ. Magic! ( It's great that you can pay Jill in sterling in England and she is extremely helpful)

"Brilliant property, great location, superb facilities, simply the best."
We stayed in this property during August 2011, we had such a superb time we all went back again in 2012. We had an extended family holiday, grandparents, parents and four children. The property easily accommodated us all with a great feeling of space. There are lots of shaded nooks to find outside if you want a quiet hour with a good book. Only one hour from Faro airport, 10 mins drive into Lagos town and beaches. The villa is so well equipped with everything you could possibly need, the kitchen had plenty of everything. Most days we would buy fresh fish from the fish market in Lagos and cook outside on the bar-b-q in the evenings. We all want to go back very soon.

"I WISH I HAD BEEN ABLE TO RATE IT AMAZING !"
One set of grandparents, four parents and five grandchildren all had the most wonderful holiday possible. The villa could not have been more perfect, fantastic pool, lots of sitting/eating out areas so no-one ever felt on top of each other. Brilliant kitchen with every conceivable device from Magimix, dish and clothes washers, two fridges I(one for the wine!), huge gas barbeque, most comfortable beds and a lovely Portugese ladyl who seemed to come in every day tidying up. So quiet and peaceful and yet only a seven minute drive away from all the bustle of Lagos with its great shops, cafes and night life. There is also a fantastic beach there but we were too happy -and lazy - where we were to go. It's only an hour, on a very good road, from the airport so once you pick up some groceries from an excellent supermarket on the way, your holiday can start almost immediately.
