Very Good

Beautiful, clean & well-maintained cottage with everything you could possibly need, would suit couple or a family. Owners very helpful, left us plenty of information, plus whisky & shortbread! In central location for visiting all of the of the lovely island. Bowmore distillery, shops, supermarket, walks, & pubs all within 2 mins, but location still remains quiet and peaceful. We loved it so much we booked it for next year within a week of leaving! Super!!

Owner's reply: Thank you Jacky we are so pleased you loved the cottage and are looking forward to having you back again next year!

“A perfect stay on Islay”

Reviewed 23 Feb 2015

I have stayed at Nia Roo twice recently and it was a wonderful choice. A cosy retreat centrally located in Bowmore, which is the best location on the island. Nia Roo is very well appointed and very comfortable with everything you could possibly need for a relaxing break. Booking was easy and when I arrived there was a welcoming letter and a decanter of scotch-what more could you ask for! Many thanks and I look forward to returning to the lovely Island of Islay and Nia Roo in the future.

Owner's reply: Thank you Jeremy I am so glad you enjoyed staying in Nia Roo. We look forward to you coming back to stay with us and exploring a bit more of our lovely island.

“Wish we could have stayed longer!”

Nia Roo was the perfect cottage for our unfortunately short stay on Islay. Great location, very cozy, clean and well kept. Jean was available to answer any questions we had before and during our stay. Thank you! We hope to return soon :)

Owner's reply: I am so glad you enjoyed your stay at Nia Roo and I was only too happy to help, hopefully we'll see you again soon. Thank you

“Great cottage, positioned perfectly in a special place.”

This cottage has everything you need. Very well laid out. The decanter of whisky is a nice touch. The owner is great to deal with, even offering an extra night when there was a problem with the ferry's due to bad weather.

Owner's reply: Many thanks for taking the time to review our cottage Phil. I am so glad you enjoyed your stay at Nia Roo and our lovely island. It was a good choice for a last minute short break.

“Nice Place perfect location in Bowmore”

Reviewed 27 Jun 2014

We really enjoyed our stay in Bowmore. The group from Sandefjord Taste of whisky est. 1989. Used this location as our base for the Islay Jubileum tour 2014. The rooms are nice with good broadband, TV and a fantastic welcome whisky. Nice backyard and all the neccesities needed Thank you for a good stay.

Owner's reply: Many thanks for the review, Islay truly is a beautiful island with lots to offer and we are very glad you enjoyed our cottage.

“Lovely cottage in a lovely area.”

Reviewed 16 Jun 2014

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay during the Islands festival week. The lovely cottage is light and airy and equipped to a high standard. The back garden is secure so it's good for any four legged visitors. Being centrally located it has shops and restaurants within a few minutes walk, while also allowing easy access to the rest of the island. We have already booked our next visit to the cottage.

Owner's reply: Hi Richard & Gilly Thank you so much for the lovely review - I really appreciate you taking the time. Kind regards Jean
