The boathouse is located right on the water's edge with all the wildlife and rivercraft going past right in front of you. You can sit and watch paddle boards, kayaks and waterskiers, followed a little later by the ducks, swans and egrets from the comfort of your sofa. The boathouse offers amazing views of the Estuary and surrounding countryside up to Haytor on Dartmoor from every room. There is a waterfront patio too for outdoor dining and living, or you can head for the nearest bar/restaurant which is only 300 metres along the foreshore. If you like walking or cycling there are fantastic routes all around you and you can indulge in any kind of watersports right from your doorstep.
The peace and quiet make it a perfect spot to read, write, paint, play music or just look at the spectacular views and natural wildlife on the river. An idyllic holiday location for two people.
The Boathouse has an open plan sitting/kitchen/dining area on the ground floor with two comfortable sofas, wall mounted flat screen smart internet TV, free wi-fi and internet, and french doors out to the patio. The master bedroom on the first floor has a juliet balcony with french doors opening directly facing the river and fantastic views from velux windows on both sides. The memory foam king size bed has a built-in central bed console with bookshelves, overhead light control, chandelier and flexible LED reading lights. There is a flat screen TV in the bedroom as well. The property is fitted throughout with low voltage down lighting.
Outdoors there is a paved patio with comfortable rattan table and chairs offering al fresco living and dining right next to the waterfront. Behind the property there is a wood fired hot tub (additional charge applies, price varies depending on length of stay please contact us for cost) it also has a great view of the river
If you don't want to cook, Coombe Cellars bar and restaurant is just two minute's walk away, right on the river's edge, offering delicious food and drink all day long. Newly refurbished interior and al fresco dining outside on the lush terraces.
For watersports enthusiasts you can launch a boat from your own private driveway, offering doorstep access to the Estuary for paddle boarding, kayaking, rowing, canoeing, sailing and fishing . An outdoor hot shower is provided to wash off wetsuits.
If you prefer walking and cycling there are numerous options in the surrounding fields and countryside and along the shores of the Estuary. The famous Templer Way passes the boathouse on its way from Haytor on Dartmoor to Teignmouth, a walk of some 18 miles.
For Golfers, the nearest 18 hole course is located at Teignmouth approx. 3 miles away offering wonderful views of the Estuary and the sea.
Tidelands Boathouse is located in the village of Combeinteignhead, which has a local pub in the centre, the Wild Goose, and Coombe Cellars bar and restaurant on the river, just along the beach from the boat house. There are a variety of coastal beaches within 5-10 minutes drive, the nearest being the lovely, sandy beach at Shaldon, a 2 minute drive away.
