The Cottage has 3 double bedrooms and two bathrooms and is set over three floors. We welcome dogs and children and have a range of accessories to make your holiday easier - dog dishes, dog beds, travel cot, booster high chair and stairgate. Rose Cottage is a five minute walk from all the restaurants, cafes, shops and harbour side cafes of Brixham. There are also dog friendly beaches within walking distance and a park just up the road. Plenty more beaches and entertainment are a short drive from Brixham. Devon is a hilly county and Brixham is no exception - lots of narrow streets and steps connecting the various levels; very picturesque and if you can't face the climb, taxis are plentiful and good value!

There is free and unrestricted on street parking outside the cottage and in the surrounding streets

If you haven't been to Devon before, you won't be disappointed, a beautiful county with so much to do and see, you won't fit it all in to a week!

PLEASE NOTE: There is a pet surcharge of £15 per dog which will need to be paid at the time of booking - please let me know how many dogs you are bringing so that I can amend the invoice. Thank you....The bedroom on the second floor is not suitable for children or the elderly as the staircase is an original half spiral and hence is steeper than a normal staircase.

The accommodation is suitable for a maximum of 6 adults - A roll under single bed can be used instead of sharing the king sized bed in the loft. Alternatively, it can be used for an extra child.....I'm afraid we don't provide bedding or towels for the extra bed.

Although we provide bath towels and hand towels we don't provide beach towels - please be sure to bring your own...

Location description from owner

The English Riviera region

Devon is a beautiful County in the Southwest of England, U.K. Miles of beaches, coastal walks and plenty of holiday activities, the area is popular with both British and overseas visitors.
The historical city of Exeter and the picturesque towns of Brixham, Totnes and Dartmouth are all well worth a visit. Totnes has its own currency, "The Totnes Pound" and many independent and fascinating shops. The seaside towns scattered along the coastline have many attractions; boat trips, fishing, snorkelling, water sports, or simply relaxing on the beach (some of which are dog friendly all year round).
Devon is typical of the South West of England, rolling hills, sandy beaches and the mild climate give it a real holiday feel and make this county a special place to visit.

Brixham

Brixham is a traditional fishing port on the South Devon Coast. A popular holiday destination, there are beaches, restaurants, shops and cafes and a beautiful harbour from where you can see the fishing fleet set sail.
The ferry will take you across the Bay to Torquay, giving a stunning view of the coastline and maybe a sighting of the dolphins which spend time in the bay. If you enjoy the nautical life, there are many boat trips, sightseeing and fishing, all available directly from the harbour.
Dog friendly beaches within walking distance, lots of green parks and gardens and picturesque narrow streets and steps all make Brixham a relaxing and friendly place to spend your holiday.
There are lots of festivals throughout the year: Trawler races, Fish fest (a music and food festival) and firework displays. Brixham has a full size replica of the "Golden Hind" in the harbour and the Torbay Lifeboat is stationed at the marina.
So much to do and see, you won't be disappointed!

“A relaxing break from it all.”

Reviewed 22 May 2015

The cottage was lovely situated close to the town but far enough away for a lovely peaceful stay. The cottage was fully equipped with everything you needed and was very clean. There are lots of things to do around the area and some fantastic dog walks with special mention for goodrington sands north that has a lovely beach open all year long . We will be going back to rose cottage and would advise people to stay here as its very good value .

Owner's reply: Thank you for reviewing Rose Cottage and I am so glad you enjoyed your holiday so much. The cottage is, as you say, within walking distance of the harbour, restaurants, shops and pubs, but on a fairly quiet street so is away from the hustle and bustle when you want some peace and relaxation! We would be delighted to welcome you back any time, Tabitha

“Lovely cottage with home touches”

Reviewed 11 Aug 2013

Really dog and human friendly with lots of home from home touches to make the stay easy and convenient in a lovely part of the world. Real Ale drinkers will love it with the pub literally across the road serving a variety of guest beers although their very friendly cat won't allow dogs in!

Owner's reply: Thank you for your kind comments! We like to think that Rose Cottage is a home from home and Brixham is an easy, relaxed and friendly holiday destination. It is wonderful for dog walking too and we welcome pets at Rose Cottage!
