OVERTON HOUSE OVERVIEWSpoil yourself in this high quality holiday accommodation with hot tub and spectacular views over the Taw Valley. Enjoying a peaceful, elevated position, in beautiful rural surroundings, this lovely home is only ½ mile from the pretty riverside village of Bishops Tawton, with a choice of character pubs serving excellent food, and a butcher with grocery store. This pet-friendly period house has recently been completely refurbished to a very comfortable standard, with oil-fired central heating and double-glazing throughout. Accommodation is tastefully finished to a high standard, whilst retaining some attractive original features.


OVERTON HOUSE has a lovely spacious dual aspect living room with a feature Georgian style fireplace with marble surround and hearth. Sit back and relax on one of the comfy sofas, and enjoy the TV with Freeview, video player, DVD player and CD player.A large entrance hall with spotlighting has an under-stairs cupboard containing an automatic washing machine.


A fully fitted kitchen and dining area has a feature fireplace with wood and ceramic tile surround. Wooden work tops, cream cupboards and a solid wood floor give this kitchen a country feel. Appliances include an electric cooker, microwave, fridge/freezer, dishwasher, toaster, kettle and all other essential kitchen utensils and crockery.


There are 2 bedrooms.Bedroom 1 is a double room with beautiful mirrored fitted wardrobes and a luxurious en-suite bathroom with spa bath. There is a small ante room, ideal for a cot.Bedroom 2 is a very large room with twin beds and a tilt and turn window door leading to a balcony with delightful valley views.


An excellent shower room with handbasin, large shower cubicle, heated towel rail and non-slip ceramic flooring can be found on the ground floor.Bedroom 1 has a luxurious en suite bathroom containing a spa bath, twin hand basins and recessed lighting, decorated in aquamarine.


French doors lead to a south facing decked area with beautiful Taw Valley views. Garden furniture and outside lighting are provided - all the ingredients needed for evening drinks and al fresco dining. A private and enclosed secondary decked area with garden furniture and a high quality outdoor HOT TUB (additional cost) overlooks the surrounding countryside, where ponies often graze. A driveway provides parking for 2 cars.(Gold Award)

For spectacular scenery and beautiful beaches whatever the season, there's no better place in England than North Devon coast and in particular Croyde. The beaches are recognised as possibly some of the finest and cleanest in Europe - with two miles of soft golden sand, plenty of rock pools and amazing surf.

The coastline is as rugged as it is beautiful dotted with magnificent cliffs, tiny cove and picturesque harbours. It was once the haunt of smugglers, pirates and wreckers and the fascinating history is retold in many small museums along the coast. Today visitors who love Henry Williamson's famous Tarka the Otter can retrace Tarka's journey by following the Tarka Trail.

Croyde is ideally located within easy reach of the harbours of Clovelly and Lynmouth which are also perfect places to relax. Meander through the streets of Lynmouth and take a ride on the unique water powered cliff railway to the twin town of Lynton which is perched high on the cliffs. Clovelly is another of the prettiest coastal village where it feels as if time stood still. The only means of transport on these famous cobbled streets are donkeys and sleds.

Along the coastline surrounding a natural harbour is Ilfracombe with its Victorian architecture, Esplanade and famous Tunnels Beach. The harbour is always busy with fishing boats sailing in and out together with the paddle steamer Balmoral which offers day trips to Lundy Island. North Devon has something to offer and appeal to everyone, take time to come and find out for yourselves, we will make you very welcome.


WALK TO - Bishops Tawton village, where you can find a local butcher, grocery store and several pubs serving quality local food. Stroll alongside the River Taw for miles along picturesque footpaths, and along the river to Barnstaple.

CYCLE TO - cyclists can enjoy the 30-mile Tarka Trail tracking the scenic coastline of North Devon. Cycle to various local towns and villages on the Tarka Trail, including Barnstaple, Instow and Braunton.

DRIVE TO - The market town amenities of Barnstaple, including cinema, leisure centre, go-karting, ten-pin bowling, shops, pannier markets and a wide choice of restaurants, all just two miles beyond the village. This is an ideal touring base, being equidistant from the picturesque estuary beach at Instow and wide surfing sands of Saunton, each via a 10 mile scenic drive, and with the splendour of Exmoor a little over 5 miles further.

"Perfectly placed for North Devon touring"

Spacious property and beds very comfortable. Very quiet setting although an easy distance travelling to places of interest. Lovely countryside views. Enjoyed the total peace and quiet of this location. Good and secure parking facilities. On the downside there is a large' air-bath not' at all safe to get in or out of. I struggled and I have no mobility issues. This could cause someone a nasty accident no matter what the age of the person. The bubbling effect needs maintenance as it was bearly working and made a lot of noise. Extreme lack of kitchen utensils and only one large meat tin for oven use, no baking sheets. The outside of the property needs updating.

"Comfortableand spacious; a marvellous place to unwind!"

Set in the rolling Devonshire countryside, with views to die for! Conveniently located for the Tarka cycling trail yet a short car ride to numerous supermarkets. Half an hour to the coast & the best of Devon's beaches and only a short stroll to the pubs. The hot tub is the icing on the cake, rain or shine!!!! Shooting stars galore! A lovely spacious house, which worked so well for our family. Definitely a place to reccomend!
