Tigh an Oileain offers self catering accommodation for up to 6 people on an island in the picturesque Co. Cavan.

This secluded thatched cottage is perfect for a vacation of peace and relaxation and suitable for families, couples or anyone looking to get away from it all!

Perfect for the Anglers among us with the Lake shore a short distance from the front door.

The house has a fully fitted kitchen equipped with a dishwasher, microwave, washing machine, dryer and cooker. There is a large open plan living-dining & kitchen area ideal for socializing and equipped with TV, video, DVD player and radio.

Tigh an Oileain is available for holiday rentals throughout the year on a weekly or short break basis.

Boats also available for hire.

Lovely week here. Kids enjoyed, made good use of facilities, boating on loughs, central location for Cavan, Monaghan and Enniskillen. Long lane into property but this adds to seclusion. Ample parking. Owner very helpful. If interested in castles and ruins, plenty to explore.

“Fantastic base for a family holiday!”

We were prompted to visit the area by a family wedding, and decided to make a week of it. Two families travelled from London and rented the cottage together, and the nine of us were very comfortable. Phelim couldn't have done more for us - from sorting out a boat to letting us adopt a puppy for the night. I have rarely stayed in such a tranquil location, and particularly enjoyed my daily dips in the lake witnessed only by the cows. We are taking lovely memories home with us, and plan to come back soon. Thanks Phelim!

“Amazing weekend”

Eight women stayed here for a weekend and we had an amazing time. House was exactly what we wanted. Secluded, peaceful and yet we could still get a taxi into the nearest town where people were very friendly. Pheilm the owner was very helpful and welcoming. Honestly one of the best weekend's we all had and I would highly recommend it even if you aren't there for fishing! We got to watch the Sun rise over the lake and that was beautiful. We will definitely return to this house. This house is perfect for anyone who just wants to get away from it all.

How do damage deposits work?

In most cases, you don’t pay a damage deposit up front. Instead, we save your payment details securely and you’re only charged in the event of damage to the property.

Occasionally, you will pay a damage deposit up front as part of the total rental cost. In this case, the owner has 10 days after you check out to report any damage. If they don’t, we’ll return your deposit. If their claim is successful, we’ll deduct the agreed cost and return the remainder.

How do I cancel my booking?

Go to Manage your holiday booking to cancel your booking. Here you can view your cancellation policy to see if you’ll be refunded.

How do I edit my booking?

You can request to change the dates or number of people on your booking via the Manage your holiday booking page. To change your holiday dates use the Edit booking button. If you need to change the number of guests staying then send Phelim / Ann (the owner) a message.

If Phelim / Ann (the owner) agrees, they’ll send you a revised quote outlining the changes. You can review and accept/decline this from the Manage your holiday booking page. You’ll have 48 hours to take action before the revised quote expires.
