An apartment complex a cut above the rest. Solario de Sao Jose is set in a prime position and the place to be if you want your holiday base to be full of optional amenities amongst a quiet stylish and friendly atmosphere. It has a large refreshing swimming pool alongside a separate kids pool.
The T2+1 self catering apartment is fully air conditioned and heated, making it ideal for year-round self-catering holiday rentals. A wonderful apartment for a romantic holiday or for young families.
Apartment is furnished to a high standard with all mod cons, WIFI is complimentary, fully fitted kitchen, TV, dvd player, Jacuzzi bath, hair dryer, security features and safe.
Our apartment has 3 bedrooms. Main bedroom has a 5ft double bed, a twin bedroom and a small 3rd bedroom with a single bed for a 5th guest. Our apartment does not have 'z' beds / couch beds in the living space. I also have a cot for a baby if required which I do not charge for.
Towels and bed linen are provided for your arrival. If you require any additional house keeping, please let me know and I will be happy to organise this for you.

There is also a roof top terrace with bbq. The long balcony off the master bedroom and living room, which is directly opposite the pools, is perfect for enjoying an evening sundowner.
The complex is safe and secure with many leisure facilities, making it ideal for families with young children or teenagers, or for a romantic holiday. DVDs, books, games and childrens TV channels pop, tiny pop and kix will keep the children entertained.
Our 3rd small bedroom is available at a small charge of €40 for a 5th guest. We do not have z beds or couch beds in our apartment.

“Perfect family complex”
This is a great family complex with something to suit all ages. From the children's play area to pool tables and a fantastic pool including a.separate children's pool. The complex is well maintained and spotlessly clean. The apartment is first class and we would recommend it to everyone. Shirley H the owner is a dream to deal with and we look forward to returning.

“5* apartment, will stay again!”
I stayed here with my family in July 2016. This apartment was excellent! Would definitely refer to it as a home from home. The complex was amazing from start to finish, from great contact with the owner (booking transfers and giving us recommendations for local food, shopping etc) to the brilliant facilities and pool. I plan to stay here in the upcoming summer of 2017 again. Thanks to the owner, she made our holiday very comfortable from start to finish.

“Solario de São Jose - A real home from home apartment”
Just returned from a fantastic week here and was our first visit to Portugal. Travelled with my partner (both in our 40's) 2 17 year olds and a 4 year old. From booking to the end of our holiday was perfect. Shirley was most helpful with providing information prior to our holiday and also very accommodating to let us check out later due to not flying until the evening which was very much appreciated. We used Sun Transfers for our taxi transfers both ways which were excellent. We were met by Ligia who showed us around the apartment and gave us some helpful info re supermarket and the beach. Very modern apartment with a homely feel. All mod cons, air con was great and loved the sunny balcony overlooking the pool. Lovely to sit out late afternoon/evening after returning from days out to relax on. Lots of dvd's for the children which found great for my little one to chill out in the evening after a hectic day. The apartment block is very well cared for and keypad entry to all the doors so felt very safe. Shutters on the apartment which was great for keeping my little one asleep in the morning until a decent time. Wifi was great for the teenagers but did work better in the bedrooms. Great safe pool and children's pool with plenty of sun beds. Well stocked supermarket 2 mins walk away -Pingo Doce, very fresh food and reasonably priced. Apartment is up a slight hill which wasn't a problem for us at all but mentioning for the less able bodied. It is a 5 min walk to the new strip and about 25 mins to the old town. We walked to old town there and back no problem but there is a land train which goes from new strip to old town all day and into late evening and plenty of taxis. We went to Zoo Marine for a day out which I highly recommend especially if you have younger children In the group too as there is a good variety of everything. We had a brilliant day here. Booked through Nelson Tours which is just up from the worms roundabout and they were really helpful. Quite a few ticket shops in the area and was hard to know which one to use but we had no problems and day out went smoothly from pick up to drop off and got dropped back by the supermarket bus stop which was ideal. We went on the open top bus which was good and nice to see around the area and this also went by the marina. Found lots of lovely restaurants, Shanghai Chinese which in the local area,,Liza's restaurant up on the new strip, lovely pizzas and cocktails! Fat Cats pub up near Tropical Sol Hotel is a must as such a lovely family friendly pub with great entertainment on each evening and good pub food reasonably priced. We had some nice meals in the old town, place called buddy's in the main square and Hardrock which also overlooked the square. Visited Fishermans Beach in the old town and Oura Beach which was at the end of the new strip. This beach was about 15 minute walk. All in all a fantastic holiday and I would not hesitate in recommending Solario de São Jose to any of my friends and family and we will definitely return.

Shirley is a pleasure to deal with and nothing was too much trouble. Aparmtent is very clean and gets the sun directly in the afternoon which when your back from your day out, is perfect with glass of wine and relaxing.... Have already recommended to family and friends.

Shirley did everything possible to make our stay as enjoyable as possible. Weather was mixed but that's to be expected in April. Our apartment was spotless and a good size, the complex was also a good size not too big and the kids had a ball. Il Cappacino near the library was great value and there's loads of good value restaurants nearby. Will be back.

“Superb family apartment - Man.Utd player Nani holidayed in complex!”
From my very first enquiry to Shirley (the apartment owner), she answered promptly and made such an effort from answering my queries to arming me with very useful information she had found on her own trips to Albuferia. Her attention to detail is reflected in the high quality of the apartment itself which is really lovely. The complex is intimate, having only 42 apartments but with a very high quality of facilities on offer. The pool and childrens' area of playground and playroom are superb and an area where our children made friends that they met up with for the duration of the holiday while we supervised them from the poolside or the balcony.It felt very safe with a coded outside gate, a coded gate to our apartment floor and electric shutters which as well as air conditioning in the living room and bedrooms also kept the apartment cool and allowed us to sleep in on mornings that we did not want an early start as the rooms remained dark until the shutters were opened. In fact the Portugese and Man Utd. player Nani was holidaying in the complex while we were there and my children were lucky enough to get a photo taken with him, so gives an idea of the quality of the facilities at Solario! The local supermarket is well stocked and two minutes walk away, with a superb bakery around 4 minutes walk. We did not need to hire a car, but on trips to the old town or the beach we travelled by taxi at a cost of €4, rather than walking the 20 minute journey in the heat, which was a glorious 30 degree C for our entire stay. We used Yellowfish transfers for our airport trip which Shirley kindly booked and they were great - prompt and courteous. We enjoyed a trip to Zoomarine, visited local shops and the Old Town but enjoyed the facilities at Solario so much we didn't want to leave the poolside, playground and games room for other days out so decided that we will return in the future and undertake other trips then. I would highly recommend Shirley's apartment at Solario for a relaxing holiday, yet it is close to all facilities that anyone young or older requires on holiday. Thanks to Shirley for all her help and our stay in her beautiful apartment.

“Everything you need in a holiday.”
We were delighted with our stay at Solario De Sao Jose. Shirley was so helpful in the lead up to the holiday, answering any questions or concerns I had. We were travelling with two young children so needless to say we needed to be organised. The apartment was beautiful, by far the nicest apartment we have ever stayed in. Had everything you need for a self catering holiday and only two minutes walk from a large supermarket. The grounds are beautifully kept, and the care taker and management staff are a pleasure to deal with. It was lovely to have a few more families stay there aswell as the boys loved having kids to play with. They spent their days going from the pool to the playground. The security aspect alone would probably be reason enough to go back. We always felt very safe between the security codes to access the complex and the electric shutters for the windows and doors. Came in handy in the mornings too to help the boys sleep longer :-) The apartment is located about 7/8 minute walk from the strip, so would definitely recommend a stroller as the smallies would tire quickly, but a nice walk, where you have shops and restaurants along the way and even a tasty bakery that has the most delicious desserts. We used to get the road train into old town. €4 for a day ticket so you can travel as often as you like. The boys loved this and it stops off at the beach so handy if carrying alot of stuff like we did. Some lovely restaurants there too. By far the best holiday we have had and a great first holiday for the boys. I couldn't recommend the place or Shirley enough. We will definitely be back. :-)
