Description from owner
This contemporary semi-detached stone barn conversion is situated on the small holding 'Tŷ Hen Henllys' with stunning coastal, mountain and countryside views. On a clear day you can see Bardsey Island, Lleyn Peninsula, and from the patio you can see for over 30 miles, stretching from Aberdovey along the Dovey Estuary to Cadair Idris and beyond.
Bwlch Cliced has been decorated and furnished to a very good standard giving particular consideration to local heritage and history, our furnishings and artwork are carefully chosen on the theme of wool, in particular the Welsh Garthen (tapestry blanket) which were produced in a variety of patterns and colours.
Ear-marks on sheep or other animals were served as a sign of ownership. This form of marking was important in mountainous areas where animals were allowed to graze in open country. Bwlch Cliced is the name of one such ear-mark, different farms have their own combination of ear-marks that they use.
The work of our village artist, Ruth Jên from her 'Welsh Ladies' and 'Home Spun Cloth' series are prominent features of the décor.

“Great Customer Service”
We were due to visit for our Wedding Anniversary in June, but with Covid19 outbreak this is looking Increasingly unlikely. During this period of turmoil the host Mair's communication has been outstanding and I cannot praise her highly enough. Swiftly responding to all emails. Extremely helpful and trying her absolute best to help and answer any queries. We will definitely be visiting at some point in the future.

“A perfect cottage in a beautiful spot..”
I can't tell you happy we are to have found this beautiful little cottage tucked away in the Aberystwyth countryside. The cottage itself is lovely, both inside and outside it has everything you need. The interior is beautifully styled and literally has everything you can think of to make the cottage feel like a home away from home. The gas BBQ was brilliant, we used it everyday, but then we did get very lucky with the weather. The hot tub is a welcome relief after a day visiting the many attractions Aberystwyth and the surrounding areas have to offer. Mair and David have created a lovely space to sit and while away the hours whilst listening to the sheep bleating (we honestly had no idea how comical that could be).. Trips we would recommend are: Cliff top railway Devils bridge steam train. Expensive but a lovely day out and breathtaking views. Borth Zoo - no frills but the staff are very enthusiastic and our 5 year old loved feeding the goats. There's a lovely pub called The Victoria Inn in Borth too that backs onto the beach. A beautiful spot for refreshment. I can't remember the name of the visitors centre, but we went to watch the Red Kite being fed and it was brilliant. Ynyslas beach is very local (10 mins drive) also quiet and perfect for castle building and paddling. The butterfly house was also highlight. A special mention to David who went out of his way to make our 5 year old sons holiday. The ram feeding and quad bike rides definately were a highlight for him and probably the reason we had tears when we had to leave. All in all, we had a brilliant holiday and will definately be returning next year. Thanks again Mair and David....
Owner's reply: It was great having you staying with us. So happy you all enjoyed your stay. It great to have company to feed the rams, and to go round the sheep on the quad. His face said it all - fantastic. Visitor Center was "Bwlch Nant yr Arian" - great for walks and cycling. We will look forward to see you again - quad and rams waiting. Thank you.
“Perfect and peaceful getaway cottage!”
My family and I had a wonderful time while staying at this gorgeous cottage. It felt fresh and modern with a built in dishwasher, fridge and cooker. The hot tub was the star of the show and we spend our evenings enjoying a soak under the stars. We arrived to the cottage on our first day to find home made brownies and flapjacks which was a lovely touch and the views of the beach were stunning. It was peaceful and the owners were so hospitable and respectful of our space. We will definitely be returning!
Owner's reply: That’s a lovely review, thank you. Hope to see you soon. Mair
“A relaxing, cosy cottage”
Great location with great views. The cottage feels so homely, beds are comfy, hot tub was perfect and the rest of the cottage was clean and tidy on arrival. Short drive to Aberystwyth for main shops.… More

“Peace and quiet in rural Wales”
Oh my goodness - what an amazing cottage! We were welcomed first and foremost by Toby the dog who our children absolutely adored and he loved fetching sticks for them. The cottage is lovely and open plan with a backdoor leading to the garden with a hot tub. The hot tub was used most evenings once the children were asleep and on clear nights we were able to turn all the lights off and look up at the stars! We heard owls and also saw a bat fly overhead. The cottage is a nice size for a family of four and the kids loved the large tv and space to play hide and seek. The bathroom was a good size and has a really good rainfall shower (no bath). Everything in the cottage is modern and the underfloor heating is so good - no cold toes! Locally in the area there are a number of things to do, most things for children involve being outside. There is no nearby indoor soft play areas that we were aware of, which are good for rainy days! There is however a small zoo in Borth which the kids really enjoyed. In the nearby village there is a great cafe I was able to get a takeaway latte from - Caffi Gruff. Amazing coffee. We loved our stay and may well be back in the future for a good relax.
Owner's reply: Thank you very much for your comments. Much appreciated. Thank you. David

“Fantastic cottage & rural location”
We stayed at the cottage for a long weekend and absolutely loved it. It was perfect for a family getaway with a toddler; Mair provided a travel cot, high chair, bathroom stool and stair gate. The cottage was clean, modern and homely and Mair was on hand for anything we needed in the farmhouse next door. Our toddler loved Toby the farm dog (who was so gentle and playful) and all the lambs and sheep in the field just beyond the back garden. The views were incredible! Mair provided freshly made cakes for our arrival, which were delicious. Amazing hot tub! We enjoyed the rural location and it was only a 15 minute drive to Aberystwyth or 10 minutes to Borth (sandy beach!) and 35 minutes to Aberdovey with beautiful views. We would love to come back and visit again! Really recommend.
Owner's reply: We are really pleased you enjoyed your stay with us. Thank you for your comments - it is very much appreciated. Look forward to see again. Thank you.
