“Fantastic holiday !” We had an amazing holiday at Villa White Lycia , and I cannot wait to return ! It was our 2nd visit to Kalkan and we found the location of this villa perfect for us , we had a car and we able to get into the centre of Kalkan easily within 10 minutes. The Villa was beautifully decorated and at night there was a wonderful ambience with the various candles lit , sitting on the balcony looking out across the bay.The kitchen is fully equipped with everything you could possibly need, and the pool and surrounding terraces are attended to daily, it was immaculate. We had young teenagers with us ,ages 13-16 and Kalkan is a perfect destination for that age group, with the nearby beach clubs to visit offering water sports , hammocks and a trampoline in the sea ! The choice of restaurants in town is superb and most of them very reasonably priced, the only difficulty was which one to choose !! We visited Patara Beach which a 'must do' but would recommend going late afternoon when it is cooler, there is great surf there and the kids loved it. We also went to Saklikent Gorge , for the 2nd time and still enjoyed it just as much, another great one for the kids , as after the hour or so walk thought the gorge you can go on ringos down the river which takes about 45 mins, such a laugh! Another great day was the boat trip, unfortunately the one suggested previously on reviews was full so we went on 'muddy boat' ,I can also highly recommend this, the food prepared in the tiny kitchen was amazing , and the staff could not have been more helpful and friendly . Thank you so much to Tim for allowing us to experience your lovely villa, as stated in all previous reviews your efficient handling of our booking and attention to detail made the whole process so simple and stress free. Hopefully we will be back !!
“Fabulous apartment with breathtaking views” Just returned from a wonderful holiday in this fabulous apartment. Our 11th holiday in Kalkan since 2007 and our 6th stay at Eagles Nest - a recommendation in itself. Have tried other places in Kalkan but in our opinion this is the place to stay if you want a totally relaxing holiday with stunning views over Kalkan which are quite simply breathtaking. Nothing better than sitting on the terrace with a sundowner enjoying some glorious sunsets and gazing at the twinkling lights of Kalkan town by night - perfect!
The apartment itself is absolutely huge, very comfortable and beautifully furnished with some lovely finishing touches including local pieces. There is loads of storage space and it is equipped to the highest standard.
The owners were very helpful and provided all the information and tips we required for our stay. They have also put together an excellent guest manual in the apartment and should be very proud of their achievements ensuring that guests have the best possible holiday.
A highly recommended apartment to which we would return without hesitation in the future.
“Spectacular views!” A wonderful villa that made our holiday in Kalkan most enjoyable! With this being the 3rd time holidaying in Kalkan, and having stayed in other villas before, we highly recommend Swallows Rest to cater for a very relaxing and comfortable stay. It brings together a beautiful aspect of Kalkan bay, along with terrific sunsets to be enjoyed from the balconies or terrace. Spacious bedrooms each have their own on-suites, and good entertainment facilities include a lovely pool, table tennis, play station/DVDs for late night viewing. Restaurants are super, and with a short ride to the town, it makes the location great! There are a few stairs so may not recommend it for families with younger children. Karen & Derek were fabulous during the booking process too!
“Great Villa, Fabulous Views!” I stayed at the villa with three friends in June. We organised transfers from the airport through the villa owner and Roger which was really simple and convenient. We were met at the airport by our driver who took is straight to the villa where Roger was waiting with keys and to provide us with further information.
The pool area with BBQ was excellent and there was a great shaded area for when it got too hot.
We visited Bob's shop frequently for bits such as bread, beers, drinks, eggs etc. Bob and his staff were very helpful.
The villa was a 5 minute walk to the Beach Park where you could get lunch and drinks and a boat to Kalkan. The sun loungers and parasols were free providing a drink was purchased, the prices of which were very reasonable.
The villa and the views were great!!
“Villa Evin, what a great place...” Having just come back from 2 weeks at Villa Evin we are busy looking to see if we can do the same holiday next year!
As a family of four, with two kids 7 and 11 Villa Evin gave us everything we wanted. A really wonderful Villa kept to a lovely standard, in a beautiful location just meters from the beach club. We spent lots of time just siting on the edge of the pool staring out across the bay drinking in the views and enjoying the luxury that the Villa gave us.
Kalkan is beautiful and I can really understand why so many of the people we bumped into told us this was their third of fourth time visiting. It is full of restaurants, really nice people and is genuinely nice place to be. You don't get people yanking you into their restaurant, the people were all very polite and very respectful of why you were there.
It was difficult to fault our holiday this year. A great Villa, a great location and wonderful weather. Full marks!
“Villa is fantastic, views are breathtaking and Kalkan is wonderful.” An amazing villa, within a short walk of the Kalkan Beach Club. The water taxi across to Kalkan is great, especially in the early evening on your way out to Kalkan Town.
The organised trip that we went on, through Abi Travel to Saklikent Gorge, is a must. It costs £16 per person but is cheaper for children and includes journey to and from the Gorge in an open back Land Rover, a lovely lunch, sitting on the banks of the river and entrance into the Gorge. The optional 30 TL (£10 or so) which you can pay to go down the river on "Ringos" is well worth it. It was such a laugh and the 7 of us had a great time. This is also a Mud Bath to go in at the end of the river trip, which was good fun and the kids loved it.
All in all, the Villa is like "Home from Home" and you feel at home from the moment you arrive.
Kalkan town, is beautiful and some of the Restaurants are amazing (Doy Doys, Olive Garden and both Mussaka restaurants).
You do get hassled a little by people asking you to go into their restaurants, but a "No Thanks" is always accepted and they will always say "Thank you, Have a good evening" so is not too much of a problem,
Nothing to do with the Villa, but would be nice to be able to walk easily from Kisla in the evening into Kalkan. Part of the walkway out of Kalkan is completed, but the rest of the walk is un-developed and not advisable for children/older people. We did walk along the main road one the first night, but wouldn't recommend that !!
Hope you enjoy Kisla Han and Kalkan as much as we did.
The Wallis and jenkins Families.
“Lovely villa, beautiful scenery, good food and friendly people- loved it” We truly enjoyed our holiday in Kalkan at this beautiful villa. The villa was exactly as shown in the pictures and the owner (Brian) was really helpful in sending us local information and guidelines for utilities at the villa.
We hired a car, which we found of great use, as the villa is on the outskirts of Kalkan, which allowed us to visit some other towns and sights. The locals in Kalkan were all very friendly and there is a parade of restaurants at the harbour. The service in the restaurants and the food was excellent and we enjoyed every meal. There is a number of shops selling excursions such as boat trips, paragliding and horse riding at the beach. They were all very friendly and helpful and transport to and from your excursions is included in the price.
We very much enjoyed our ten days of relaxation and sunshine and would definitely recommend this villa and destination.
“Beautiful Villa Amare, fantastic holiday” Villa Amare is a splendid villa set on a bank with fabulous views across the bay. The villa provides full facilities and is tastefully furnished with lovely, comfortable and airy rooms.
Outside there are varied places to laze and relax as well as a pool to enjoy and a BBQ area which catches the last rays of the day.
Nearby there are several good bars and restaurants within walking distance and the local beach club offers a ferry boat service across the bay to Kalkan. A visit here is a must as at night as it offers a relaxed holiday feel with its cobbled streets and rooftop and waterside bars and restaurants.
We will definitely be booking again to go to Villa Amare.
