“the very best.” such a wonderful holiday... truly needed a rest from home & work. 5 weeks that flew by sooo very fast. 1st couple of weeks on my own & then 1dear friend from wales & 1 from the usa. we were all happy in this beautiful house. “Quaint and Quirky” Beautiful cottage surrounded by gorgeous scenery. The property was clean and had everything you could need and more. Sleeps 6 comfortably (Very comfy duvets)! Didn't use the conservatory but did use the games and rackets for outside. Plenty of garden space for outdoor play. Owner was very helpful and communication was excellent. If your looking for a peaceful break surrounded by natural beauty this is the place to go.

“Majestic Mountains” The scenery is stunning; the peace and tranquility unbelievable - the only sounds were from sheep, cattle or the occasional tractor on the mountain road. We had great weather which helped but I'd challenge you to find a more beautiful spot in Donegal. I loved to sit on the front step of an evening taking in the views and feeling calmed by the utter stillness all around. Sean was extremely friendly and accommodating and very easy to deal with. The house is grand - beautiful views from every aspect - the only niggle is that the WiFi is patchy (we could only access it once in 6 days) but having said that, that didn't bother me as I wanted to get away from it all and this location and accommodation hit the mark. The beautiful strand beach is 10 minutes walk from the house and never really packed (but watch out for the jelly fish)! If you are looking for a tranquil getaway in stunning surroundings, this is the place for you. I've visited many locations in Donegal over the years but this one stole my heart.

“Spectacular views” Beautiful & spacious house with spectacular views. Enjoyed the jacuzzi. Really needed to have 2 weeks as we travelled by car because of the dog. Possible improvements a larger television & softer mattresses.Due to the remoteness of the island you need to plan ahead as there are no bank machines and only 1 pub would provide cash back (when the system was working!)

“A relaxing home from home” We agree with all the other reviewers. Linda has thought of everything one might want or need in a holiday rental, even small details like bedside clocks and cozy throws on the backs of the sofas. The cottage was SPOTLESS. It was wonderful to share our long weekend with our dogs - one sat for long periods in her bed by the bedroom window and gazed out over Brandon Bay! The views from every window are spectacular. The beach is close to the cottage and O'Donnell's pub in the village has great character, charm, good food and beer and good company. We look forward to returning here.

“Peaceful and relaxing” We had a fabulous stay here. Beautiful views especially at night when sitting round the fire. Our children loved rock climbing and playing cricket on the beach. Inch Pier is only a few minutes walk away. Will definitely be back! The Fitzpatricks

“Mrs” Just spent a wonderful weekend in McEvoys self catering in Kilnaleck Cavan. We were a party of 6 adults and a 2yr old. Everybody was catered for. Excellent facilities. We had great fun in the games room. Would highly recommend this property.

“Sun, sand, seashells and a very cozy cottage - pure recreation!” We very much enjoyed our stay at The Dunes. The hosts thought of everything a family might need or enjoy during their holidays. From postcards to dvds for children, from electric heaters to knitting books, from a radio to a fully equipped kitchen, from a maritime bathroom to toilet paper - we didn´t miss a thing.

“Great stay at Ballykeeffe Farmhouse” We spent a week here last week and were very happy with everything about the farm house and the facilities. It’s only a 15 minute drive into the centre of Kilkenny.Brigid and family made us feel welcome and right at home. We would thoroughly recommend to anyone considering booking.

“Marvelous place with wonderful hosts.. a perfect hideaway from the world” I have to explain that me and the Frenchie stayed for a week in the old pub cottage the year before last around the New Year. We loved the place - the unspoilt scenery and Eileen and Robert. The Frenchie wrote notes and I was supposed to do the review but being the scatterbrain that I am - I mislaid the notes and now I have found them. Frenchie's notes: Its freezing outside; night is dark. Everything is quiet, no noise except for the howling of the storm in the fireplace. No blaring lights - Eileen's xmas tree and ours, a candle and flames. My beloved Margaret is sleeping (snoring) in the other settee. I am drinking my red piper beer and I can smell the stew. Can I expect more with holidays. A couple of days before - the satenave gave up on us and Eileen and Robert came to rescue us in front of the "Dereen Gardens". They opened the door of the "old pub" - the fire was lit, a bottle of wine, box of chocolates and flowers.... so kind reception. Eileen supplied all informations about the kitchen and Robert described all the lovely restoration work which he did on the cottage. Some days later, we spent hours around the table, tasting Josie's cake, wine and chatting of everything. . Thank you so much - you are so kind and your cottage is one of the best we have stayed in. So marvellous people, so marvellous Beara. Please, please - don't change anything - you, your cottage, Beara. You remind me of the Ireland I had visited and loved 35 years before. I could not find this any more in another place until I found you and your cottage. I have to endorse everything which the Frenchie says - I just loved the romanticism of the place, the beautiful wood which Eileen looked after so well, the roaring fire and your helpfulness and kindness. Outside, I loved seeing the sheepies - leaving their fronds of wool on the little wooden fence which ran alongside the landscape. We discovered the Healy Pass with its heft of high cliffs and narrow pases, the solitude of Glandore Lake, the rainbow colours of the houses in Eyeries and the unspoilt scenery of the Beara Penninsula. We also liked the vitality of Kenmare where the Frenchie discovered to his delight an authentic French bakery. We loved the quiet ordinariness of Castletownbere, the way of life on Dursey and Valentia and Beara Islands, Helen's Pub introduced us to the friendliness of country life and food was excellent. “Amazing and relaxing holiday” We spent in Doire Farm a really beautiful holiday. The house is perfect, you find all you need: the kitchen is fully equipped: the dishwasher and microwave oven are present! There are also washmachine and dryer. Anne and Patrick are absolutely kind and warm hosts. They make you feel at home. From this place you can reach easily the most beautiful places of the south west of Ireland. We hope to come back...

“Fantastic accomodation and Beautiful Views” This peaceful quite location was so relaxing, serene and beautiful. The house was more than we ever expected. The decor, and fine detail to everything was like being home away from home. The house was warm, cozy, had all the ammenties we needed, and was spotlessly clean. Barry was so kind and friendly making us feel at home immediately. Any questions or concerns that we had, he was responsive immediately and catered to our every needs. We would fully recommend this vacation rental for couples and/or families. Great location, close to the town of Ramelton, plus a short drive to Letterkenny, close to all highways if you had any other sigtseeing to do in other countys. We would absolutely love to stay in the house again and would be very disappointed for our next vacation if the house was not available.

“Magical” My husband and I have stayed in ivy cottage,its very comfortable and cosy especally with the open fireplace plenty of room for holiday cottage and all essential's catered for and lots of pease and quite. There is plenty to do in the surrounding areas golf only 9km in Templemore,fishing and plenty of walks and sightseeing,but just to sit in the picknic area and look across to the fields and mountains is really breathtaking,plus walking around pet farm. Our host Mr M Odonnell is most welcomning making sure you have everything you need to enjoy your holiday to the full.

“A Perfect Holiday Home...” Hi, Returned on Monday after a two-night stay. An excellent holiday home with perfect ambiance for a holiday trip. 6 Adults and 6 kids were accommodated with ease. A nearby stunning beach. A very helpful owner. Moreover, the house located at a magnificently beautiful pure Irish speaking village with all sign boards are in Irish as well. We even attended an Irish language Holy Mass on Sunday. Highly recommended for a perfect holiday.

“Amazing weekend” Eight women stayed here for a weekend and we had an amazing time. House was exactly what we wanted. Secluded, peaceful and yet we could still get a taxi into the nearest town where people were very friendly. Pheilm the owner was very helpful and welcoming. Honestly one of the best weekend's we all had and I would highly recommend it even if you aren't there for fishing! We got to watch the Sun rise over the lake and that was beautiful. We will definitely return to this house. This house is perfect for anyone who just wants to get away from it all.

“Peaceful comfortable cottage” Stayed here in June last year at the height of the heatwave and it was lovely. Very convenient to Ardara and shops etc. Located in a beautiful part of Donegal. Used cottage as a base to explore the beautiful countryside, beaches, hill, rivers and waterfall. Mary was a lovely hostess and nothing was a bother. “A must, for a stay in Wexford” This property was absolutely perfect, our children had an amazing time playing in the vast grounds, which were safe and secure. The grounds and cottage are immaculate. Its home away from home with a quaint country feel. We were made feel so welcome when greeted at the cottage when we arrived. The cottage has everything you could need. Its a great central location for many excursions. It has amazing views and we had a fabulous time and will definitely be going back. Kilmore Quay, Hook Lighthouse and the many beaches are a must see.

“Home from Home” We found Pat & Kate's Self Catering on an Irish website and have never looked back, we are returning again which will be the 3rd year. For my elderly mother it is important that she is able to go home and even though the family home is not habitable being able to come here makes coming home for her just like coming home to the family homestead. There is always a warm welcome from Catriona and the family so much so we feel that we are part of an extended family. For peace and quiet there is no better place, the surrounding area is well worth exploring so having your own transport is a must. It is great value for money and we returning again this year which speaks volume's.
