“Helpful, friendly owners, quiet town centre location, comfortable and well equipped.” As a regular visitor to the Kenmare area for the past 20+ years I have to admit I hadn't come across The Old Dressmaker's Cottage before, but wish I had! Very comfortable, very reasonably priced and well equipped, the cottage was ideal for myself, my 11-year-old daughter and one of her schoolfriends, for a half term break. A two minute walk from the shops, pubs and restaurants yet located in a quiet residential street, everything we needed was on hand. The owners could not have been more welcoming and did not seem bothered by our weather-induced late arrival and then helped me out when my car broke down - so a very public thank-you is deserved! Highly recommended.
“A great place to stay” Kenmare is my favorite place in the world. This house provided the perfect spot from which to enjoy the SW of Ireland. Well appointed, the place had everything for relaxation. Everything we needed was there. Couldn't recommend it more!
“Fantastic in every way, idyllic remote rural location.” Can not recommend Feirm cottage highly enough. Set in an idyllic , tranquil and remote location the former O’Neil farmhouose is full of character yet has all the bits and pieces you need for a comfortable holiday.
Josephine is a friendly host, and the Blackwater Tavern “the local” could also not be more welcoming (plus the Guinness was excellent).
Plenty to do in the area... we might just come back one day.
“At Home in Ireland” This was a dream cottage. Perched on a high ridge overlooking the Kenmore inlet with towering, snow frosted mountains in the distance, the view was spectacular and ever changing. The cottage was spotlessly clean and we were welcomed with complimentary wine, home made soda bread and a comfortably decorated cottage complete with Christmas tree and a nativity scene. The kitchen had every appliance and basic cooking ingredient imaginable. Also the washer & dryer were a great convenience.
We stayed for a full month and were as warm and cozy as bears in winter - while watching wild storms blowing in from the Atlantic. The owners lived next door and were available anytime but never felt intrusive or as if watching over us. Heat and Electric were extra, about 50eur./week - but WiFi, TV and a basket of firewood were provided. We hope to stay again next year. Our 1st choice in Kenmare.
