“Charming cottage in stunning surrounds”

Reviewed 29 Jun 2015

We really enjoyed our short stay at Feirm cottage. It's a charming old cottage, very well renovated with plenty space & is very comfortable. We found everything there that we needed to self cater, Josephine was extremely helpful& friendly & would highly recommend a stay there.

Owner's reply: A most sincere thanks for your review. We are glad to hear you were pleased with the cottage and that your short stay was an enjoyable one. All the best, Josephine & the O'Neill Family.

“Lovely cottage”

Reviewed 1 May 2014

We stayed in the cottage for 3 nights. It was bigger than we expected and the kitchen was very modern. Josephine was very helpful and welcoming and we appreciated her advice. We had a lovely time and would love to return sometime.

Owner's reply: The O'Neill Family are very grateful that you have reviewed your stay at Feirm Cottage on Tripadvisor. We are very pleased to know that your time spent here was an enjoyable experience and very much do hope that you get to make that return trip. Thank you again, Josephine.

“Authenticity with all the modern conveniences!”

What a wonderful, peaceful, beautiful old stone farmhouse! We highly recommend it. Our hostess, Josephine and her husband and family made us feel so very welcome! And the yummy homemade bread and treats were a lovely touch. A great central location for touring the area and yet away from the hustle and bustle of the bigger centres. We would definitely return to Feirm Cottage if ever back in Ireland.

Owner's reply: We are truly grateful that you took the time to write a review of Feirm Cottage.Your comments and recommendations are much appreciated. They also confirm for us the characteristics of the cottage which we always hope make it an enjoyable experience for those who stay there. Thank you again, The O'Neill Family.

“A quiet refuge. "Suaimhneas."”

If you need to go off grid, this is the place to do it. It is a peaceful rural location nestled in the rolling countryside. The tap water is crystal clear and tastes so sweet. You see all the stars on a clear night. Good location to travel to Killarney , Kenmare and Beara Peninsula. A well appointed house. Hosts are brilliant and are knowledgable on all local attractions. We highly recommend the pancake house near by. The wood burning stove was wonderful during an autumn evening.

“Ideal rural retreat with spectacular scenery.”

Reviewed 16 Jul 2012

On our arrival we were met by Pat O'Neill and his purebred Kerry cow. He welcomed us to Feirm Cottage gave us a brief history of the cottage and showed us around the property. There was complimentary turf and firewood for the wood burning stove in case we needed to light a fire. Later on that evening Josephine O'Neill came up to introduce herself and recomended plenty of places of interest to visit while in County Kerry. The cottage was very comfortable, warm and set in the ideal location for walking, cycling, fishing, sightseeing or just for relaxing. There was a pub, petrol station, shop and horse riding facilities near by. Kenmare and Killarney were only a short drive away and the cottage was a great base location for exploring County Kerry and West Cork.

“Fantastic in every way, idyllic remote rural location.”

Reviewed 5 Sep 2011

Can not recommend Feirm cottage highly enough. Set in an idyllic , tranquil and remote location the former O’Neil farmhouose is full of character yet has all the bits and pieces you need for a comfortable holiday. Josephine is a friendly host, and the Blackwater Tavern “the local” could also not be more welcoming (plus the Guinness was excellent). Plenty to do in the area... we might just come back one day.
