“A heartwarming host and a beautiful house!” My family, girlfriend and I stayed at this house during part of our tour of Europe; three days in Ireland. Ray and his friend were waiting for us at the train station. They had a very warm greeting and immediately made us feel at home. When we arrived at the house they had ready for us a meal of 2 cooked chickens, salad, fresh bread and wine, which we really needed after 2 straight days of travel. He has a nice binder of info to get you started in the town of Athenry and Galway with food, pubs, music, sightseeing and other services. On his recommendation we went to Clifden which was absolutely lovely. The house was spacious and well furnished, there are many beautiful rooms and the beds were very comfortable. The area was extremely convenient by the train station, but also very quiet, with no road noise, etc. Checkout was simple: Ray gave us our deposit the day before we left and we made sure to load the dishes into the dishwasher, put the used sheets/towels on the floor and take out our trash.

“Surpassed our wildest expectations!!!” Sunnybank is a fabulous facility and located in a beautiful little town. The rooms were clean and bright, bath in each, great kitchen and dining room (fit all 18 of us comfortably), and there was plenty of space just to hang out. Many of our party had never experienced Ireland before, and were treated to a great location and incredible weather, better than I've seen in my 6 previous visits. We even used the pool and sauna. Shane took great care of us and checked in frequently to ensure we had everything we needed. Also, there are a couple of local folks who came in and cooked for us a couple of nights, who I would highly recommend as well. Check with Shane on them and he can hook you up. Thanks for a great experience!
Killarney manor house

“Elegant country manor right in Killarney!” Website pictures are impressive, but still don't do justice to Coolclogher House. Very warm, stoked fireplaces in most community rooms, lots of space - two sitting rooms, large kitchen, bedrooms range from very large to huge! All en suite too. Proprietor Mary (with able assist from husband Maurice) is bubbly "Irish friendly", and very accommodating. She helped us arrange local transport, both tours and taxis, so we didn't have to even rent a car are avoided ackward "other side of the road" driving (we're from US). Sixty plus acres of manor grounds, and from front door cannot see anything man made, just the gorgeous mountains of Dunloe Gap - yet only a pleasant, short 1 1/2 mile or so walk into central Killarney to pubs, restaurants, shopping etc. (or an inexpensive taxi ride). We had a great time, so much so we are returning in 2015, this time brining the family. Very affordable when considered on a per couple basis, excellent value for your money.

“Perfect rural getaway met with five star hospitality” Truly unforgettable experience. Would recommend it to anyone. My wife and I were looking for a relaxing weekend away in the rolling hills of west Cork and Dunowen House was our B&B destination. Fantastic! 20 minutes outside Clonakilty at the end of a quite boreen, this is country seclusion at its best. The private entrance immediately makes you feel like you are visiting friends. We were greeted by our hosts Kela and Stephen who made us feel right at home. Our luxurious room, the cathedral room due to its high wooden beamed ceiling, includes a standing bath in addition to an modern en-suite. The peaceful countryside outside and clean comfy warm room ensured and great night’s sleep. In the morning Kela prepares your delicious breakfast (per request), with all produce locally sourced (the black and white pudding!), in addition to the homemade breads, scones and, jams. Stephen advised us on the best spots to see in the area. Check out the nearby (half mile) Sands cove. Returning to Dunowen for the evening, we were free to relaxed in either of the uniquely decorated living rooms. This former home of the late musician Noel Redding added to the character and allure of the house. Listen to music, watch TV or browse through the many books that occupied the room, this felt like a home away from home. Looking forward to returning.
