“Lovely homely house from which to explore west and north Clare” Modern but characterful house, spacious, lots of natural light, great views to both Cliffs of Moher and the Aran Islands. If you're looking for a peaceful break to recharge your batteries, Gorse Cottage fits the bill. Two or three pubs close by in Doolin with good food and music as well. Get one of the local guides (we recommend Mary Howard) to show you and explain the Burren. If you're a cyclist, do the coast road to Fanore and Ballyvaughan, it's a lovely ride.

“Excellent home away from home to enjoy the sunny southeast.” This is a very nice chalet with excellent hosts (Georgina and Ian). The chalet was very clean upon our arrival which was to be expected but what was not expected was the warm homemade bread, homemade jams and several food items. Georgina was very helpful and answered all our queries with ease and good humour. The sunny southeast didn't always live up to its name but there are many indoor activities locally to keep you occupied. Heartily would recommed Windy Neuk for two or three people. Nightlife options are really the local restaurants and pubs.

“Sun, sand, seashells and a very cozy cottage - pure recreation!” We very much enjoyed our stay at The Dunes. The hosts thought of everything a family might need or enjoy during their holidays. From postcards to dvds for children, from electric heaters to knitting books, from a radio to a fully equipped kitchen, from a maritime bathroom to toilet paper - we didn´t miss a thing.

“Excellent holiday home!” Brilliant property! It was a lovely surprise to find a welcome card with contact details if needed, tea, coffee, biscuits and wine for our arrival! The house contained everything we needed from washing up liquid & washing powder to well known makes of shower gels, shampoos, conditioners etc. Was large enough for 2 families (including one person with disabilities) with 2 lounges a large kitchen and a games room, a downstairs bedroom & bathroom. The kids loved the games room and the garden and the garage was equipped with bikes, a go kart, dart board, punch bag etc. The house is bright, modern and clean. Although the house is in walking distance of the town we used hire cars to travel and visit the more well known sites & towns. The owners had also left a folder recommending places to visit, eat etc which we found really useful. Would definitely recommend! Lovely house with considerate owners! A thumbs up!

“Peaceful comfortable cottage” Stayed here in June last year at the height of the heatwave and it was lovely. Very convenient to Ardara and shops etc. Located in a beautiful part of Donegal. Used cottage as a base to explore the beautiful countryside, beaches, hill, rivers and waterfall. Mary was a lovely hostess and nothing was a bother. Cottage very clean and comfortable and surrounded by large garden and parking. Bonus was it is pet friendly. Would stay again

“Home sweet home” We felt like Lugdine was more like a home than a holiday rental. Carpeting in the living room, hallway and master bedroom which was nice on the tootsies. Light and airy inside; a nice fireplace to burn turf in; comfortable furniture in the living room; nice tables outside to enjoy the countryside.....it was wonderful. We aren't rookies at renting holiday houses and this one was 10 out of 10 for us. One pays for electrical usage and the oil for the heating (if you need it). We turned on the heating just to get the chill off and then we were fine with using the portable heaters IF we needed to. Wi-fi is pay as you go and if staying longer than a week, we would recommend going for the month rate just to be on the same side. There was never a problem with the wi-fi. Sean, the owner, was such a wonderful host and person. Made sure we knew about all the necessary points regarding the electrical, heating, wi-fi, and if we had enough wood and turf for our use. One can tell Lugdine is a labor of love for Sean and rightly so. Kitchen is stocked well with pans, plates, glasses and utensils. There is a dishwasher and clothes washer for use. There is a clothesline for hanging freshly washed clothes and a drying rack too. One unbelievable bonus for us was the Irish deer stag who showed up in the yard twice in the two weeks we were there. Cannot recommend Lugdine enough.

“Outstanding Glenties property” Husband and I booked into this property from Australia. While it was isolated, everything you could possibly need for a great holiday was provided. The bread, milk, butter and eggs left by the owner were a really lovely touch. The ample supply of peat and kindling was offset by the fact that we had to go out and buy matches to start the fire. We found the property to be lovely and clean - until I moved one of the cushions on the lounge. Hair, chips/biscuits, lolly wrappers and pieces of tassels that had come off the cushions were lurking there. Also did not see hide nor hair of the owner which I thought was a little off. Met her mum on Day 1, but that was the only time we saw her as well. Compendium was very helpful with local knowledge.

“The perfect location for exploring SW Ireland” The cottage was as charming as it looks in the pictures. The view from the dining table never got old. The Duyn's were wonderful hosts; making sure we were familiar with the appliances and fireplace, keeping us stocked with firewood and baked goods, and offering advice on the many restaurants/pubs in in town.

“A fantastic weekend” We syaed here as part of our wedding weekend and we couldn't rate this place any higher. Everyone that stayed with us had a fantastic time and enjoyed the castle thoroughly. Michael, Joan and Zane were fantastic hosts and have a wonderful place. I wish them every sucess for the future and if you have any doubts about staying in this place, you shouldn't.
