“A brilliant location to get away fom it all.” This is an ideal holiday destination for anyone who wants peace, quiet, privacy and relaxation. However it is only a short car ride away fom Riberac which is a typical bustling, market town. The house is extremely comfortable and spacious. All the bedrooms are ensuite. The facilities are second to none. The swimming pool is fabulous with lovely views over one of the lakes. At night it is beautifully lit and ideal for an evening meal and entertainment. If you are a fisherman, it is paradise, with many different lakes which are stocked with a variety of fish. Herve and Pascale are charming hosts, who go out of their way to make your holiday a truly memorable experience.
“fantastic” Rented the 2 properties for a week for a family get together. There were 8 adults and 5 children (all under the age of 5.) We had a fantastic stay. The houses were beautifully renovated , extremely well equipped and spotlessly clean. Everything had been thought of and there was so much useful equipment and toys for the children.
The owners were very friendly and couldn't do enough to help
I would highly recommend these properties
“Exceeded our (high) expectations!” Our family group of seven (six adults, one child) stayed at Les Hortensias for a week in July and we wished it had been longer. The house is beautiful, very grand and sympathetically furnished, yet cosy and relaxing. The gardens and paddock are great and the view at the back of the house is stunning, we spent several afternoons and evenings just playing/lounging around at the property. Our four year old loved the play equipment and feeding the horse, he was also delighted with the amazing and unexpected selection of toys and children's books at the house, as were we.
The village is pretty and the local shop/cafe very handy. We hired bikes from the cafe and went for a 20km round trip along the Avenue Verte that goes right through the village; despite the fact that our group was of very mixed ability, this was one of the holiday's highlights (beware the buggies though - they are much harder to pedal and not as much fun as they look!). We went to a couple of lovely beaches (within half an hours drive), played golf, visited Dieppe and the nearby V1 rocket site in the forest. There is so much to do in the area, a week really didn't do it justice.
“Has everything for a great holiday for the whole family, will definitely go back.” House has loads of space with large individual rooms which have authentic French furniture. The bathrooms and shower rooms have a modern clean finish. kitchen and dining area are great for family meals with plenty of storage and prep surfaces. Sky Tv and DVD player keep kids entertained.
Swimming pool area has everything you need as there is a great eating and outdoor kitchen with barbecue. Ample sunbathing and relaxation area with WIFI, very safe for kids as is self contained.
The house is in a small town which is small enough to be friendly but still has handy services like baker, butcher, small convenience store, wine shop and resturant/bar. Very pleasant countryside for walks especially around river.
Great attractions within short drive, my kids especially enjoyed the O2 park at the local lake which had loads zip wires and climbing areas.
“Beautiful old house deep in peaceful Brittany countryside” We had a wonderfully relaxing week here to mark a family celebration with ages ranging from 15 months to 90. This magnificent old farmhouse is full of rustic charm but has all the modern amenities, and the games room and children's playhouse and swings were an added bonus - as was the small menagerie of ponies, cats, a charming goat called Buddy, and a calypso parrot. The well stocked village store with French bread and wine is just at the bottom of the drive and open 8am to 8pm. Beautiful coastline is not far away, and the long sandy beach at Binic is spectacular. Warm thanks to our helpful hosts, Alison and Mauro.
“Fabulous property for families with lots of space, great pool and plenty to do nearby” Had a wonderful week for an extended family reunion. The property was ideal and we were made to feel very welcome by Mark and Andrea. The house was perfect with plenty of space, en suite bathrooms, a fabulous pool, very well equipped kitchen and dining room and lots of outdoor space perfect for catching up after days out. The photos on the website give a good idea although it's better in real life! We visited Caves du Razes, Carcassonne, Mirapoix, Limoux, the Airbus factory in Toulouse (booked in advance) as well as enjoying quieter days walking by the lake and relaxing in the sun by the pool. Bikes were available and we found nearby disused railway lines were ideal for bike rides. Our week was over too soon and ended with a fabulous meal prepared by our hosts. Thanks again.
“Perfection in One Place” I have rented this villa three times now and next year I am booked in again. Honestly I don't want people to know how great it is or I will be without a week in the future. The history of the villa and village.. You feel part of the community. If you have a large family or a group of people it works out well. I bring culinary students to the South of France every year (This is my 22nd year) and this has been my villa of choice!
