“Stunning rural idyll in the heart of Brittany” We are regular visitors to La Haute Milliere. The house is charming - it's also very well equipped - all needs are taken care of including wifi for those who want to keep in touch with what's happening in the world. The location is perfect for escaping hectic city life and re-charging as well as convenient for exploring the delights to be found in Dinan, St Malo and Rennes. A personal favourite is waking in the morning to the chorus of the cows from the neighbouring farm.

“The Perfect Holiday” If you're looking for a relaxing, peaceful holiday, look no further. We stayed for two weeks as a party of six, ranging from 3 years to 70 years. First of all, the bad. Well, not really bad, just 'less excellent'. The pool was solar heated, so a bit on the cool side when you first get in. Our 3 year old didn't go in much because of this, but the rest of us loved it. The other issue was the lack of WiFi, which was only accessible in certain parts of the house or garden. This turned out to be a blessing though as it stopped people from constantly being on their phones! With the lack of mobile signal in the area too, it really did mean that technology had to take a back seat - perfect! The traditional farmhouse was lovely, plenty of space for the six of us, with four bedrooms and two bathrooms. A good sized kitchen too. We had private use of the pool, a huge garden for the kids to run around in (with swings in), access to a rowing boat and three kayaks. The Nantes-Brest Canal was at the bottom of the garden, although it was gated to keep the children contained. The rest of the house is child friendly too, for example a stair gate on the stairs and a cot in one of the bedrooms. You can rent bikes although we took our own and used them daily for a ride along the towpath or surrounding country lanes. Steve and Sorrel were the perfect hosts, living in the property next door. You wouldn't know they were there though, but they were always available for any little problems, which on the two occasions we experienced, were quickly sorted with no fuss. There is plenty to do in the surrounding area, although on reflection, we did very little. We made the one hour drive to the beach on a couple of days. We visited Josselin, which was nice to walk around. The creperie on the canal, just up the road from the farmhouse is worth a visit. We also went for a bike ride around Lac au Duc, which was an interesting 14 km. (Make sure you have a mountain bike as there is quite a large section off-road). Other than that, most of our time was spent relaxing at the farmhouse. My wife and I both commented on our journey home that this was one of the best holidays we had ever had, with lots of quality family time, in a beautiful farmhouse, in peaceful surroundings. We were both genuinely gutted to leave.

“Tranquil ocean breezes” My husband, two year-old son and I stayed in the charming house in June. It could not have been more idyllic! The location is ideal. There's a grocery store and cute, casual restaurants within walking distance, two parks and of course the beach and amazing ocean! Every morning we walked down to the Montage and it's neighboring beach to walk the paths and play in the waves. It almost felt like Hawaii! And all the shops of downtown Laguna are just a five minute drive away. The house itself is lovely and spares no detail. Its definitely been decorated by a pro! The kitchen is fully stocked, the beds all ultra comfortable and the patios are amazing! We spent many an afternoon on the front patio watching the sun set over Catalina Island. We loved our stay here and would do it again in a heartbeat!

“Beautiful, romantic” We have got lot of information and seen many pictures beforehand, but still Mas du Bois Dore exceed expectations. Old farm renovated with taste, beautiful green garden surrounded by olive trees. The view to the walley was breathtaking. The rooms were excellent and cool and refreshing after hot juny days outside. Best thing was quet evenigs sitting in the garden or by the pool, watching beautiful sunsets. Surrounding provence was worth visiting, pictoresgue old towns and amazing Canyon du Verdon, the views we never forget. We'll come back!!!

“A high quality gite in an interesting wine producing area” We were welcomed warmly on arrival with a lovely cake and our rooms were light airy and so stylis ! The gite is surrounded by vineyards and we were lucky to be there at harvest time! The pool is a good size for exercise or lazing on an inflatable and the garden offers shade as well as sun worshiping areas. We relaxed on the terrace, enjoying the peaceful vineyard. Just a short drive away is Blaye, an ancient town with historical sights, riverside views, a market, good wines and restaurants and a fascinating Roman villa at Plassac. Also nearby is Bourg, a walled gem also on the banks of the Gironde with small shops, eating places and wonderful red wine! Bordeaux , being only 45mins away, is a must day out , as is a day in St Emellion with the narrow strreets, specialty shops, the restaurant Amelia Canta and all the trips around the wine chateauxs available. We are definitely going to book up another holiday in Grandetouble!!
