The West Country region

The Roseland Peninsula is designated as an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. Fishing villages and inland picture postcard communities with thatched cottages and beautiful gardens; the coastal footpath and wooded valleys with riverside walks; larger centres like St Mawes with its Tudor castle and Tregony with its historic past; and further afield all the attractions of Cornwall's rugged coast and sandy coves.

Visit the cathedral city of Truro with the County Museum and specialist shops; or Bodmin with its regimental museum and ancient gaol; Helston with the annual Furry Day in May when they dance through the streets and houses to the world famous Floral Dance; Falmouth with the National Maritime Museum, Pendennis Castle and University; St Austell with the Eden Project and Charlestown with its historic harbour and tall ships; numerous gardens such as Heligan, Trelissick,Trebah and Glendurgan, all of which thrive in the mild climate.

For families there are many attractions to visit - Flambards, Dairyland, Crealy, Newquay Zoo and Aquarium and of course all the fantastic beaches where you can sail, windsurf, water ski, surfboard, canoe, swim or just paddle.

There are many local Festivals throughout the year and specifically in the Roseland area the Fal River Festival in May with many arts, craft and musical events, and the Fal River Walking Festival in October.
