Macably Cottage 1 Harlyn Mews in Haryn Bay is only a minutes (flat) walk to the award winning family friendly beach of Harlyn Bay , an immaculately presented three bedroom end of terrace modern cottage, awarded a 4 **** rating from the Cornish Tourist Board. The cottage boasts a master bedroom with en-suite facility, a family bathroom, a further large double bedroom and a single room with bunk beds all located on the first floor. Each bedroom has ample storage with dressing tables, chest of drawers and wardrobes with plenty of hanging space.
In the living room we have a large wall hung television with freeview, a DVD player, separate music system, PS2 and a selection of games, we have also added a payphone as it is sometimes difficult to get a signal for mobile phones and we now have broadband installed.
Macalby Cottage is in an area designated for its outstanding natural beauty, the beach is only a minutes walk away. Harlyn Bay is approximately half a mile wide with fine golden sand at the back of a sweeping open bay, with only a few houses which gives a lovely remote feel. There are low rocky headlands at each end of the bay ideal for rock pooling. Life guards are in attendance from Easter through to the end of summer, the beach is dog friendly all year round. The Marine Conservation Society's Good Beach Guide lists Harlyn, nearby Constantine Bay and Treyarnon as being of "excellent" standard.

For the perfect holiday in Cornwall come to North Cornwall. Sixty miles of dramatic Heritage Coastline, sandy beaches, hidden coves and pretty fishing villages, wooded river valleys, bustling market towns and beautiful Bodmin Moor.
Local attractions include the world famous Eden Project, stunning country houses, medieval castles and many areas to explore including King Arthur's Tintagel, Port Isaac, The Tate at St Ives and the fabulous Lost Gardens of Heligan.
The working fishing port of Padstow is ten minutes drive away, famous for Rick Stein's Seafood Restaurant , cookery school and deli. Newquay is twenty minutes drive away with airport, train station and Jamie Oliver's 15 restaurant.
The climate in Cornwall is very mild for most of the year.
Padstow / Harlyn Bay area
Harlyn Bay is a beautiful sweep of golden sand sheltered by Trevose head with its dramatic cliffs, it also offers good swimming and surfing as well as catering for everyone from toddlers to anglers and cliff walkers. There are four other beautiful beaches close by within five minutes drive.
The quaint port of Padstow is 10 minutes drive away, with Rick Stein's Seafood Restaurant, cookery school and deli. From the harbour it is possible to take boat trips as well as the ferry across to Rock. The Camel Trail, which winds around the estuary to Wadebridge on the track bed of the old railway line, is ideal for walking or cycling. Excellent bike hire is available for all the family at either Padstow or Wadebridge.
St Merryn is the nearest village, about 2 minutes drive from the house with a Post Office, grocery shops, fish and chip shop, gourmet restaurants, and garage. There is also a large Tesco store close to Padstow, which is approximately ten minutes drive away.
Within a five minute drive there are the equally impressive beaches of Trevone, Constantine, Treyarnon and Porthchothan and the Championship Links Golf Course of Trevose.
In all an ideal place for all the family or a romantic week for couples.

Further details indoors: On the ground floor there is a w.c, large living room with two comfortable sofas, kitchen, dining room with patio doors opening directly onto the rear garden which has ample seating and a good quality teak table and chairs, we have also provided a BBQ for guests use. The garden is particularly suitable for small children and dogs because it is completely enclosed. We have separate access to the house via a side passage which is completely enclosed with a door at each end, we have installed a shower so you can come directly off the beach and wash down without having to go through the house, all the wetsuits and boards are stored here The kitchen is fully equipped to a high standard with all the usual implements, from glasses/mugs/cutlery to lemon squeezers and cafeterias, with a microwave, dishwasher and a washer-dryer. All windows to the property are double glazed and the house is warm and comfortable. Duvets, good quality bedlinen, blankets, towels and tea towels (including beach towels) are all provided as is a travel cot.
We have provided a selection of 19 wetsuits in various sizes, from children to XX large, together with a selection of quality surfboards for guests use.
Further details outdoors: Designated car parking is provided for 2/3 cars. The house also has its own private, enclosed side access, private (enclosed) garden with outside teak table chairs and bench, and a BBQ. Outside storage provided for our wetsuits and boards (large selection available for guests use only) and a retractable clothes line.

Refundable breakages deposit of £150 required on booking, to be refunded within two weeks of your departure (subject to satisfactory property inspection).
50% of rental payable to secure booking further 50% of rental fee due six weeks before your stay.
Smokers welcome, but please smoke OUTSIDE only, there is a flowerpot filled with sand outside for cigarette ends.

We can arrange for the rental of a cot, high chair, buggy with notice.
We can also put you in touch with local baby sitting service, dog walking can be arranged and there is a local team who can provide catering services, if required.
We can accept payments by cheque or bank transfer in GBP or Euros.
Out of season we are mare than happy to let the house from £100 per night for a minimum of three nights.
