The West Country region
Newquay is Britains number 1 beach tourist destination. World class surfing and beautiful coast line, there is lots to do for families, children and now becoming very popular with Stag and Hen parties for the great day time activities such as surf lessons, coasteering, GO-Karting, paintball, many golf courses and now famous nightlife.
Cornwall is a tourist destination hot spot, with towns such as Falmouth, Padstow, Looe, Lands end Penzance all attracting world wide visitors. For Hikers Bodmin moore has miles of dramatic landscapes and exciting walks, as well as the obvious coastal walk available.
Over 10 beaches including Britains number 1 surfing spot Fistral Beach: Home to many surf competitions over the year. Other beaches include the more family (calmer seas) friendly Towan beach and Great Western. Home of Jamie Olivers Fifteen restaurant Watergate bay and further out the National Trust spectacular Bedruthen Steps.
Many restaurants from seaside cafes serving fish & chips to upmarket restaurants such as Lewinnick Lodge and Habour Fish & Grill - serving Mitchelin star level fish dishes day and night.
Night life in Newquay is legendary. Berties is Newquays biggest nightclub hosting pool parties and foam parties through the week. Other pubs such as the Red Lion have regular bands and the Walkabout is the place to watch sport and enjoy a kangaroo burger.
Newquays biggest asset is the amount of sports and activities available. Surf coaching is obviously very popular, Coasteering is the newest craze and highly recommended for the adrenaline rush. Kite surfing lessons, Scuba diving, jet skis are all available. Lusty Glaze beach is home to a great out door activity centre with rock climbing and zip-wires on the beach. There are many Golf courses less than 30mins drive.
Close to Edge 14 is new high spec tennis centre with indoor courts, Koncept Gym is less than 50M away and has a full cardio and strength suit, award winning Trenance gardens and boating lake are also 5mins walk.

"Lovely house but lacks attention to detal"
The house is lovely and generally very clean. The best bit about the house is the design. However there are quite a few negatives some of which were very disappointing. There were no hand towels or so… More
Thank you for your feedback, we take all of your points very seriously. I have responded to each of them individually:
- Lack of tea towels, hand towels, soap- part of our changeover is to provide all three of these and on this occasion it seems the cleaners missed every point. I have subsequently spoken to the cleaners and added it to their formal check list so this does not happen again. We are sorry for this inconvenience.
- Some beds were broken- this is the first I have been made aware of this and we will send maintenance down to deal with it immediately. We would have sorted this out on the day if we had been made aware of it. The cleaners reported there were no breakages on the previous changeover.
- Entertainment system complicated- there is a manual left to explain this and this was pointed out on the check in. We will review the manual and look to simplify it to help avoid confusion in the future.
- 'Some wires were missing'- unfortunately some guests do take some things from the house and we have found that adapters/ chargers are usually the first to go. I think this is what has happened in this case as every bit of technical equipment should have been provided. We will check all of the parts and replace any that we think are needed. It's a similar story with the wi-fi code- unfortunately guests can restart the router and end up changing the name/password. I should have double-checked this before I checked you in so apologise for this inconvenience. I am glad you did find the information in the end and were able to use the wifi.
- Parking was full- unfortunately we have no control over this, although there is a residential street and free car park just 2 minutes away from the house (which was pointed out on check-in)as well as the bays outside the house so we were surprised to hear this was a problem.
- No bannister- the design of the staircase is as an open staircase. However, we have reconsidered this design and have a new perspex banister being fitted in early November, unfortunately this is just a few weeks after you came to stay.
We would like to apologise for any disappointment and will use this feedback to make sure our standards are kept even higher in future.
