About the home
Set in an idylic rural location overlooking the village of Bonsall in Derbyshire. The cottage is set on a quiet country lane with many footpaths leading into the countryside. The nearby fields are the home to the sheep and alpacas from Spinney Farm and you may also see cows from the nearby dairy farm. As the cottage is set in a dry stone wall enclosure it's a totally safe space for children to run around,and for you to just sit and relax.
Spinney Farm cottage is just down the road from the farm therefore completely private but just a 2 minute stroll if you need any help.
Don't miss the annual 'Hen Racing' at the Barley Mow (10 min walk), held on the first Saturday in August.
Matlock Bath is just a short 10 min drive away with many tourist attractions including Gullivers Kingdom and the Heights of Abraham. Chatsworth House is a 20 min drive away and well worth a visit. For the walkers amongst you - the Limestone way passes through the village of Bonsall along with many other walking opportunities through this beautiful countryside.
Fish and chip shop only 10 mins away in Cromford along with the post office. Supermarkets, restaurants and shops 15 mins away in the town of Matlock.

The Heart of England / Peak District / Peak District/Derbyshire region
Set on the border between the Peak District National Park and the Derbshire Dales, Spinney Farm Cottage is in the ideal location to explore this outstanding countryside wether by foot or by car.
With many stately homes, the nearest and argueably the best being Chatsworth House with its beautiful gardens, farm and childrens play area.
Going slightly further afield is Alton towers theme and water park, a truly brilliant day out.
Carsington waters is just a short 15 min drive away.
Crich tramway museum is also a short drive away.
Arkwrights Cromford Mill is just 5 min drive
Nine Ladies Stone Circle in the nearby village of Stanton.
The Matlock / Bonsall area
The village of Bonsall has 2 pubs both serving food there is also a tea rooms which is due to open in Spring 2012. Bonsall is one of many local villages still upholding the tradition of well dressings which is held in the last week in July along with the annual Carnival. The open gardens is held in June and the horticultural show in September - there's always something going on!
The surrounding towns and villages include many interesting places,including the cattle market in Bakewell every Monday and Matlock which holds the archives for Derbyshire the ideal place if you want to trace your ancestors. There's also Matlock Bath with it's many tourist attractions including the cable cars across the tors, Gullivers Kingdom and the Heights of Abraham.

From the A5012 (Cromford to Buxton Road), turn right to Bonsall. Continue up the hill, immediately at the top of the hill take a sharp left turn onto Black Tor Road and follow for approx. 0.5 miles.
On arrival into the hamlet of Slaley take a very sharp right turn and continue until the road levels out. When you see the sign for Spinney Farm on your left continue along the road for approx. 300 yards and the cottage is on the right.
