If you are looking for a relaxing short break or week away in a beautiful rural setting, from where you can go for easy country walks, have long lunches or do something more energetic, then this is the cottage for you. This is the perfect venue for taking a holiday in Wales since it is in a centrally placed location close to the Elan and Upper Wye Valleys, Rhayader's kite feeding station and the Royal Welsh Crystal factory. It is also within an hours drive of Hereford and it's cathedral, Ludlow's renowned cuisine or Cardigan bay's beaches and dolphins.

We are in easy reach of several renowned mountain biking centers-

Coed Trallwm & Elan Valley/ Nant yr Arian/ Radnorshire rough ride and Machynlleth-Mach 1, 2, 3

There is a huge variety of walking in the area from the national trails of Offa's Dyke, Wye Valley Walk and Glyndwr's Way to shorter circular routes in spectacular and very quiet countryside.

Mid-Wales, has always been one of Britain's premier fishing areas, fish for trout in the Elan valley and Llyngwyn or river fishing on the Wye, Elan and Claerwen.

The barnhouse cottage is, fresh and open plan in style on the inside, traditionally timber-clad on the outside. It sleeps four people with one king-size room and one bunk room. It is in a quiet, rural setting, under big skies, between a mighty ridge and the rolling Elan Valleys. Walk, mountain bike, watch wildlife and stargaze straight from the doorstep and of course, you can always do absolutely nothing at all!

This is not a second home, it is purpose built holiday accommodation. We are not registered with the big self-catering agencies, so you are not charged a hefty commission (usually between 20-30%) on top. We market the property ourselves. This means we can offer better value at a much lower price. Prices from £152 for a short break (3/4 nights) or £225 for a week.

The Powys region

Set right in the middle of Wales, the region is renowned for its beautiful rolling hills and stunning views across lakes and forestry. Truly breathless scenery in its beauty. The old country of Radnorshire, now the middle of the extended country sits close to the English border. The county moto 'neither English nor Welsh' alludes to the depth of its culture and the ancient heritage. Motte and bailey castles and ancient monuments abound and can be found worn from ancient battles and centuries of varied weather. Opportunities for walking and cycling are everywhere.....

"Cosy, comfortable, friendly, close to nature - would stay again."

We had a lovely time here. The converted barn is well furnished and really ideal for a family of 4 (2 kids under 7). It is close to great walking and beautiful scenery - good place for nature lovers. It is close to towns too so great if you need to do a spot of shopping. The owners were lovely and very discreet. They gave us some good tips on badger-watching!

Thank you for taking the time to write your great review, Merci!
