Farmhouse | 7 bedrooms | sleeps 14
Woodlands Farmhouse combines the heritage and charm of an historic old dairy farm with the style and chic of 21st Century living. It has seven bedrooms, (one of which is located on the ground floor and ideal for those who prefer not to use stairs) and sleeps 14 very comfortably, with a private hot tub.
The Sedum Spa located on the same site as the farmhouse is a shared facility which has; a 12x5m chlorine free indoor pool, sauna, relaxation room, Nordic hot tub, pool lounging area, 4 treatment rooms (a wide range of therapies are available), gym, separate male & female changing rooms. It is the perfect place to completely relax and unwind.
The house was completely renovated and refurbished over two years using the finest craftsmen to restore features such as the inglenook fireplaces, old bread oven, original flagstones and large elm floorboards to name but a few. Whilst preserving the old, we have also added the style and comforts of 21st Century living, with luxuries such as the hot tub, cinema room, wet room showers and bespoke designer kitchen.
Why not enjoy a tranquil countryside walk with your dog around the 100 acres of ours surrounding the house, before relaxing and unwinding at the spa or in the private massaging hot tub with a chilled glass of champagne. For the more active, the gym, games room and kids play area should keep even the most restless entertained. Either way, we have designed the house and spa to cater to everyone's needs, from young to old, modern chic to classic elegance, to provide you with a truly memorable experience.

The West Country region
Located in the beautiful open countryside, close to Glastonbury, the property enjoys magnificent views of the hills and Tor. Nearby Longleat safari park offers a unique day out, driving in and amongst the lions and rhinos. Whilst for the architecturally minded, the World Heritage Site of Bath and, Wells the smallest city in England with its beautiful Cathedral, are within a short driving distance. The area also boasts such attractions as Cheddar Gorge, Wookey Hole caves, The Fleet Air Arm Museum and Haynes Motor Museum.
Glastonbury is famous for it's ancient history. Joseph of Arimathea (Jesus' great uncle) visited Glastonbury following Jesus' death and legend has it that this was the resting place for the holy grail. A few centuries after this King Arthur was buried at the foot of Glastonbury Tor (Avalon) and legend has it he still roams around the Abbey ruins! Either way, Glastonbury is a hive for spirituality and an alternative way of life. One visit to the town will make this abundantly obvious. It does have a great deal of charm though and of course all the necessary amenities. The area is probably best known for Glastonbury Festival which is a couple of miles from the property.
The surrounding fields offer a host of walking routes if you are feeling active. If not, just relax and go to the spa or light the wood burner and put your feet up, soak in the private massaging hot tub.

"A very pleasant place to stay with a high standard of accommodation and very well appointed pleasure complex."
The location is quite convenient and the property is spacious in terms of living areas. There was a large kitchen / dining room with a table plenty big enough for a larger party than us. Two lounges plus a library means that not everyone has to be in one sitting area.
A must for most of us, the WI-FI was available over most of the house.
The leisure complex was better than many hotels and I guess the only issue we had was that we needed to book a two-hour slot for the whole stay so, depending what time we came back in the afternoon may or may not have been the best time on a particular day.
Thank you for your kind words; we're so pleased that you had a good stay at Woodlands Farmhouse. Whilst always available for you to use for groups up to 6 persons at anytime, we appreciate that you may not always know your plans in advance when using the spa. Not with your group, but sadly we have found in the past some larger groups can dominate the spa and hence we introduced the time booking system. We hope to see you again in the future. Paul & the team.

"Excellent accommodation with superb spa facilities"
Huge 7 bedroomed property. Excellent layout for large groups. Plenty of bathrooms and very well equipped. Lovely patio area with large dining table and BBQ. games room with snooker, CD player and darts.
Superb spa which was absolutely spotless and well maintained.
Tesco, Morrisons and Sainsburys within 2-3 miles. Glastonbury just 2 miles away. A couple of pubs in the immediate area, one of which is withing walking distance.
I would definitely recommend booking the chef one evening as all the hassle of cooking and clearing away is taken away from you. Excellent food and well presented. One very small point is that the desserts were served up and melting on the worktop whilst we were eating our main meals. It would have been nice to have 10 minutes break before desserts, however this wasn't possible as the cheesecake was melting. Maybe be worth mentioning when booking your chef and waitress for the evening.

"Absolutely gorgeous and a great relaxing and fun time"
all 14 of us absolutely enjoyed our weekend stay. Everything we needed was on hand and the Sedium Spa was lovely too and those of us who were lucky enough to be pampered thoroughly enjoyed it !! Woodlands Farmhouse is a brilliant place to stay with family or friends and we would certainly recommend a stay there.
We were celebrating 50th Birthdays and were recommended to the Manor House Inn but although the food was good the girl that served us was friendly, the rest of the staff were not very friendly and didnt make us feel very welcome but it didn't ruin our evening but just wanted to mention it.

"Amazing, a 40th birthday celebration to remember!"
We stayed for five nights at Woodlands over Easter for my 40th birthday with my family - 7 adults and 4 kids in total - and we loved every minute!
The booking process was very slick and the owners were very helpful. On arrival were met by Ed who showed us around the property, which is gorgeous. You feel you are right in the middle of nowhere and the views are great. Each room is spacious and all but one has it's own bathroom. The communal areas are big and have character - this made for a great Easter egg hunt. I think the thing that made our holiday amazing was the spa which we had to ourselves every day. We were able to book it for a two hour slot and we were the only people in there. The pool was fantastic, and we had lots of catching up in the outside hot tub (which has views of Glastonbury Tor). We also took the time to have a massage with Gemma which we all agreed was one of the best we had all had (that sounds like we had it together, we all had one seperately :) but she accommodated us at quite short notice. The gym is well equipped too. They provide towels too which really helped.
Going back to the farmhouse, we used the games room which has pool and darts and we also played cricket out in the garden. There is a wooden side and swing set for the kids too. It would be great if there was table tennis, I reckon there's room in the games room! There is sky in the tv room, loads of dvds and ipod docks to listen to music. The kitchen is well stocked and there's a nice big kitchen table to dine at.
We catered ourselves for most of the holiday but we did eat out at The Manor House pub in Shepton Mallet which was very nice, had fish and chips from Steve's in Shepton Mallet and we also went on a really great bike ride with all the kids in tow. I wouldn't necessarily recommended Wookey Hole - I had fond childhood memories of going and was a little disappointed. The caves themselves are impressive however all the other stuff around it is a little tacky which is a shame and it's rather on the pricey side.
Anyway, we've all gone back to work today with holiday blues which is always a sign of a great holiday. I would definitely, without hesitation, recommend Woodlands to anyone looking for a fantastic, high quality group venue. We would love to return!
It was a pleasure to have you stay with us and we're glad that everything was what you wanted to celebrate your birthday in style. It sounds like you got to make the most of the garden in the good weather and enjoyed the Spa facilities throughout your stay. We hope to welcome you back in the future. Many thanks Ed and the team.

"A property to recommend"
Our entire family of 14 stayed here and it was excellent. The house is beautiful and was immaculately prepared for us. There is plenty of space and the kitchen is sufficiently equipped. We would thoroughly recommend a stay here. The house is situated in a wonderfully quiet environment. There is a brand new indoor swimming pool, with a sauna, exercise room (well equipped) and relaxation room. There is also a hot tub next to the house.
If there is anything to criticise it would be the games room. There is a darts board (very tired), three ageing darts, an unlevel pool table and a football table whose base has come loose so is unusable. But these are minor problems and in no way detracted from a thoroughly enjoyable week.
Thank you for your comments. We're really pleased you enjoyed your stay at Woodlands Farmhouse. We were unaware that the pool table was sloping, (we tend not to play all that often...)but have now fixed it. Apologies for the darts and table football - the equipment does get a lot of hard usage and we obviously missed that the darts needed replacing. The table football has also been repaired. We hope to see you again sometime. Paul & the team.

"There was 13 family members present who all agreed the property & facilities were first class"
We all agreed that this was an ideal location to celebrate our Golden Wedding, accompanied by all of our family members and one small dog! The house was so large that we never felt that there was a lack of space. The house was very well, and tastefully ,fitted out with no shortage of kitchen utensils and every room was large and the bedrooms and bathrooms were excellent. The hot tubs, spa, sauna, swimming pool and gym were of a very high standard and much used by all members especially our 5 grandchildren. All in all an excellent property.
We always feel that bit more responsible when there is such an important occasion to be celebrated, so we're all delighted that you had such a good time staying with us. Paul & the team.

"Amazing house and beautiful spa"
We had a lovely stay at Woodlands Farmhouse recently, with a group of friends who go away together every year. The farmhouse itself is beautiful, especially the bedrooms which are really pretty and beautifully decorated - with lots of bathrooms; essential for a large group! The kitchen is very well equipped, and has a lovely traditional farmhouse feel.
The spa is brand new and very close to the farmhouse. The pool was a good size and warm, and it was a lovely place to hang out for the morning. There was also a gym, which looked good, but the sofas next to the pool were more appealing!
We will definitely be back next year.
I'm really pleased you enjoyed your stay with us and hope to see you all again the future. Regards, Paul & the team.
