Evergreen Cottage is a natural stone building completed in early 2013 and adjoins the owners main property. The cottage offers high quality fixtures and fittings throughout which gives it a real 'home from home' feeling. The cottage benefits from underfloor heating which is complimented by a real log burning fire, perfect for those cosy nights having explored all that Somerset has to offer. Upstairs the large bedroom has an ensuite bathroom whilst downstairs the open plan living provides cosy sofas and armchairs to make the most of the open fire. The living area is separated from the kitchen by a breakfast bar, a great area to sit, enjoying a glass of wine as the sun goes down and the evening meal is prepared. An ideal location from which to explore Somerset the cottage is a 5 minute walk from the Bath & West Showground. The historic city of Wells and Bruton are short drive. The surrounding area offers great walking and cycling.

The Somerset region

The Cottage is the perfect bolt hole from which to explore the beauty of Somerset.

With a short drive you are in the historic City of Wells the smallest city in England. With its magnificent cathedral Wells still retains many independent shops, restaurants, pubs and twice weekly farmers market. Heading in the other direction we have Bruton and Castle Cary great places to wonder around and explore at leisure.

Bath, Bristol, Stourhead House and gardens, Montacute House, Longleat Safari Park, Lyme Regis, West Bay, Stonehenge, Salisbury are all potential days out from Evergreen Cottage.

Evercreech

Evergreen Cottage is situated in a wonderful location down a quiet country lane, in the small hamlet of Prestleigh.

Step out of the front door and follow the stream up the lane where you can admire the ever-changing views over the Somerset countryside. If you enjoy walking there is an abundance of scenic walks and public footpaths, just a short distance from the cottage. Whether it is walking on the Somerset Levels, hiking through the Mendip Hills or venturing up onto Exmoor, Somerset has a huge variety of walks available

Explore Britain's biggest gorge from the dramatic cliffs rising 450ft to the stunning stalactite caverns. This world famous site is an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty and is home to many rare and endangered animals and plants including Greater Horseshoe Bats. Cheddar Caves are famed for their stalactite and stalagmite formations and they are an international centre for caving and climbing, as well as being the name behind the famous cheese!

Glastonbury Festival...arguably the greatest music festival in the world transforms Worthy Farm in Pilton and the surrounding area for three magical days of music, mayhem and fun. Glastonbury has something for everyone. If the days of camping in a crowded field and queueing to endure the Glastonbury toilets and wash facilities are a thing of your past(!) why not book Evergreen Cottage and hop on the bus from the Bath & West Showground down to the festival?

Eating out and finding excellent local food and drink producers and pubs and restaurants is one of the great pleasures of any holiday. In Somerset we also have superb cafes, tea shops, butchers, farm shops and fishmongers, many of them award winning. The owners will be happy pass on their recommendations.
