About the home

First floor: The sitting/dining area is double height with original beams exposed. The kitchen and sitting areas are slightly smaller than its sister cottage Old Orchard. There is also an additional wc upstairs.The French windows in the sitting room open out onto a large decked area with picnic table, parasol, and BBQ.

The two bedrooms are downstairs on the ground floor. One is a double with en-suite shower room. The other room has twin divans and a separate bathroom with a tub and shower.

The West Country / Devon region

Devon is one of the most popular holiday destinations in all of England. Outdoor activities abound: from walking or cycling the countless trails of the West Country to a lazy day at part of the truly unique seaside. There is plenty to see and do. It is the ideal place to go for families and couples who appreciate something more active and love bicycling around, sailing, walking surrounded by beautiful sceneries, playing golf, surfing and much more. You can always also enjoy the great outdoors and zip through the treetops at the River Dart Adventure Centre or take the rope challenge at Go Ape.

Devon is also a perfect place to go if you love festivals. Look out for folk, food and garden festivals as well as vintage car rallies, curious customs to classic operas. Devon buzzes with activity all year round.

Devon has also plenty of quality attractions including award winning animal centres like Pennywell Farm, The Big Sheep, Paignton Zoo and the National Marine Aquarium.

Alternatively you can travel back in time at Bygones Victorian street or explore one of the many National Trust properties such as Castle Drogo or Buckland Abbey.

The Dartmoor / Drewsteignton area

Dartmoor National Park is one of the last wilderness areas of Britain -- moorland landscape, wild ponies, ancient settlements -- great walks. Also easy access to Exmoor, and either the rugged seascapes of North Devon and Cornwall or the milder Channel shores of South Devon. 3 miles from Chagford (old stannary town known for its shopping and nearby walks), 10 from Exeter, 8 from Okehampton.

We are within 10 miles of three 18 hole golf courses including Bovey Castle. Only an hour from the Eden Project. Children love the Miniature Pony Centre at Moretonhampstead (5 miles) and the House of Marbles at Bovey Tracey (12 miles).

Five minutes from the last castle built in England -- Castle Drogo. 13 miles from Exeter and Exeter University. On a typical day at East Underdown you could talk a short walk up the road to the ancient stones of Spinster's Rock, lunch at one of the many local pubs, relax with a swim and sauna before cuddling up by the wood burner (or hanging out on the private patio).

“Perfect little cottage - all you need and wonderful location!!!” I stayed here for 3 nights in March with my husband, 2 friends & 4 dogs. “Excellent Location, Ideal for families” A fantastic location, away from it all but close enough to the A30 for access to Devon. The cottage was fantastic with all mod cons. The bonus is the swimming pool (open from 8am til 10pm) and the games barn - we couldn't keep the kids away from them! Tilly the dog always gave us a warm welcome. We would higly recommend.

“Fantastic place” This is my 1st review on trip advisor as cannot usually find a reason to spend 5 mins of my precious time to promoting someone else's business. This place is different, I booked this holiday as a birthday surprise for my wife, daughter aged 2 and son 5 months. We arrived at the property to a very warm welcome from both the owners and their amazingly friendly dogs, the setting was quiet, private, clean, spacious and was immediately clear as to why the 5* accreditation has been given. We stayed in "little cleave" the smallest of the properties and were pleasantly suprised by the space we had. Very comfy beds, very clean and great log burner :-) The highlight of the place is the swimming pool, it is incredibly warm, clean and a lot more spacious than we thought it would be. We must have spend a good 2 hours per day in the pool and our 5 month old son stayed warm which was great. I would and have recommended this destination and will be booking to come again in the Christmas week. Big thanks to Barbara and Tim the owners, wish we could move in. Christian Hammond and family
