A lovely, clean, tidy place to stay. Everything you need is in the cottage and it was the perfect size for 2 of us.
Just a short train ride into Cardiff, which is the main reason we stayed here.
The cottage is perfectly located near to the Taffs Trail - great for walking or cycling, and I would recommend Umber and Siennas Art Cafe just off the trail in Taffs Well. Beautiful!
We had a great days cycling to Caerphilly Castle and Castle Coch.
Unfortunately, there is nowhere dry to store bikes, so make sure you take bike covers with you.
The local pub Fagins, - just 70 steps away- is fantastic! Good food, good beer and great atmosphere. We didn't manage to try the other establishments as we loved this one so much!
A truly great place to stay, I would highly recommend it and can't wait to go back there again.

We had a great stay in the railway cottage. Making the arrangements for the arrival were easy and the owners gave us a warm welcome including delicious fresh Welsh cakes.
The cottage was well equipped with nice and comfortable furniture. Everything was clean and in very good condition. The garden behind the cottage was a great plus which we enjoyed using.
The cottage is well located for public transport to Cardiff and hiking around the general area including the nearby lovely mountain Garth. There are also several nice pubs, restaurants and a park within a short walking distance.

"Cracking little cottage, very private and yet everything is on your doorstep."
Stayed with my husband for a week in July (went to see Springsteen Concert in Cardiff), this cottage is a perfect size for a couple and has its own private garden. The transport links into Cardiff are great with Buses running every 15 mins and trains almost as often.
The Village is well equipped for Eateries and pubs of its own (turn left or right out the garden gate) and is at the base of the Garth (Moutain) Hill which has a cracking pub serving great food 10 minutes walk from the door.
The Cottage is in the grounds (attached to) the owners house and carpaking is in the owners drive, which was large enough to park three cars with no concern.
The Welcome was warm and Friendly and Rob took the time to ensure we were comfortable with the Cottage and our Garden, a moment or two answering our questions about local amenities (theres more than it first appears! Supermarkets a Bowlplex, Multiplex Cinema- all just 1 mile from the door) and he was off allowing us to enjoy the Sunshine and Wine in the Garden

"Pictures do not do this property justice"
WOW, is what you say to yourself when you enter this property this is much greater than I expected.
Exceptionally well maintained and perfect for two people that want to get away from the hustle and bustle of city life. It is like having your own private place to stay where you can relax and enjoy the world around you.
A car could be useful if you are staying here, but we did not have one and were pleased with our ability to get around. There are two buses that pass the property and the train station is only a moderate walk away.
We hiked from this location to one of the nearby castles and caught the train to Cardiff several times to visit attractions in the city.
The only concern for some people is the fact that the cottage is next to the railroad, it is a railway cottage after all, but the trains stop running at night and we did not notice excessive noise from them.
