The West Wales/Pembrokeshire region
The popular Victorian spa town of Aberystwyth, with its many attractions is only a five minute drive away. The mountains of North Wales provide a majestic backdrop to the beautiful sunsets over Cardigan Bay and a walk along the mile and a half long promenade could also provide you with a glimpse of the resident bottlenose dolphins. The Cambrian Mountains and unspoilt river valleys are only a short drive away or why not enjoy a trip on a narrow gauge railway instead. Activities such as horse riding, cycling, swimming, sailing, walking, golf and fishing are all available on the doorstep.
Aberystwyth is an University town with a mile long promenade and sandy beaches. The narrow gauge railway trip to Devils Bridge is very popular as is the Butterfly house in the Rheidol Valley. Sea and river fishing are popular pastimes in this area as are golf and cycling. The cycle paths and walks at Nant yr Arian forest and lake are a huge draw particularly for viewing the Red Kite population. The surrounding countryside is stunning in places and offers excellent exploration expeditions. The Rheidol riding centre is well established and caters for all ages. The Arts Centre, Cinema and local pubs provide excellent night time entertainment.

"Book Doleos now - convenient peaceful spotless comfort with a wonderful Welsh welcome!"
If you're looking for a homely little place to stay five minutes from Aberystwyth, don't look anywhere else – just book Doleos!!My husband and I stayed in August 2014 over our wedding week… More
Thankyou, thankyou, thankyou for such a lovely review. I am overwhelmed with pride and delight. We were so thrilled when we knew a bride and bridesmaids were due to stay and meeting the young bride and groom to be was an immense pleasure - such a charming couple. This sort of experience certainly makes all the hard work so worthwhile as we are fortunate to meet some really lovely people such as these. Reading this review makes me wish I had been able to make this my lifelong career rather than a bit late in life. It's made my day! The feeling of exhaustion as the hectic summer bookings begin to ease off has been replaced with super energy to do even better. I wish the young married couple a long and loving marriage such as my 43 years with my dear hubby. DIOLCH, diolch, diolch

Massive THANK YOU - I'm absolutely chuffed to bits that my lovely, charming visitors enjoyed staying at my cottage. It's what spurs me on and knowing they didn't want to leave - well fantastic! I did enjoy my little run up to the top of the meadow with the youngster and his extremely energetic pup! Not bad for an out of condition biddy! I look forward in particular to their return.

THANK YOU. It was lovely to see my charming young visitors, with their very excited dog, stroll through the meadow. The view of the sea from the top gate is a magnet for me and I escape up there for my time out. It's a lovely spot for a picnic too so I hope when my visitors 'return soon' the weather will be sunny and hot so they may enjoy a picnic by the meadow gate. So very satisfying to have visitors that share our vision for our amazing little place.
