The West Wales/Pembrokeshire region
This area of West Wales includes part of the Pembrokeshire Coast National Park: the length of coast between Strumble Head to the west of Fishguard and the Teifi estuary near Cardigan, and inland, the craggy slopes of the Preseli Mountains.
Near the pretty resort of Newport, you will find Celtic heritage sites such as Castell Henllys, the reconstructed Iron Age hillfort, Pentre Ifan, one of the finest megalithic burial chambers in Britain, and on Carn Ingli mountain, the remnants of a hillfort with stunning panoramic views across the sea.
There are sandy beaches at Newport and Poppit. The Pembrokeshire Coastal Path and the Preselis offer a choice of walks amidst breathtaking scenery. Free coastal bus services in the high season allow you to walk the coastal path without having to double back. The quiet country lanes provide safe family cycling routes. Excellent fishing is available in the Teifi and Nevern rivers as well as sea fishing from boats or off the rocks and beaches. The National Park runs an extensive programme of activities and events for both adults and children.
There are charming places to visit such as Nevern village with its legendary churchyard, Newport with its friendly village atmosphere and wildlife-rich estuary, as well as the larger Fishguard, a ferry port offering the opportunity of a day trip to Ireland.
The two sheltered Blue Flag sandy beaches of Aberporth make this seaside village one of Ceredigion’s favourite holiday destinations. At low tide, rock pools are exposed and seals, dolphins and otters can often be seen close to shore. The coastal path passes just by The Old Post Office providing wonderful walks passing sandy beaches, towering cliffs and rocky headlands.
With the village amenities within walking distance - including the local store, two pubs serving food and two takeaway restaurants - you need hardly leave Aberporth! However, with so many nearby places to visit you’ll be tempted: the area has numerous tourist attractions and the apartment’s central location allows for day trips exploring the rest of Cardigan Bay and Pembrokeshire. But no need to buy postcards: just take photos of the gorgeous views from the balcony and add ‘Wish you were here?’!

"Home from Home"
Before we even arrived the service we received from Sam was excellent.Travelling from Spain meant that we arrived late but Sam arranged for us to conveniently pick up the keys and how wonderful to arrive and be able to make a cup of tea or have a glass of wine without having to go shopping! The apartment had everything you could possibly want and is maintained to a very high level. The area is a perfect getaway from the hustle and bustle and all the people we came in contact with were very friendly. Well worth while discovering the rest of the coast and towns such as Cardigan, Narberth and, although a bit further away, St Davids is a must. All in all a perfect week.
Guys, Thanks so much for the write up! We're so pleased you enjoyed. Hope to welcome you to The Old Post Office again soon.Sam :-)

"Relaxing, modern, wonderful!!"
We had a lovely 3 nights at Two Penny Blue. It was my first trip to Wales and I'm really happy with the choice of accommodation. The apartment has a great outlook out over the beach and a great big balcony (1st floor). The interior of the apartment is stylish and comfortable. Sam was very welcoming and helpful with booking. There is so much to do around Aberporth. We did a few coastal walks and a boat trip at New Quay. I would highly recommend Two Penny Blue for a relaxing break!!

"Outstanding Property and Location, Simply Fantastic!"
My son (11yrs) and I spent a few days in The Two Penny Blue apartment last week along with friends and their children in The Old Post Office and I was delighted with the accommodation. The beds were so comfortable with lovely crisp linen. The property is furnished, decorated, well equipped, clean and comfortable with sea views. Access to a lovely sandy beach is a short walk away as are the local amenities. Sam made us very welcome and was at hand if needed. If the weather was sunny or wet the location and apartment complemented one another perfectly. To escape for those few days blew the cobwebs away and left me and my son refreshed and revived for the new term ahead. Certainly a return visit necessary.

This is a great place to stay. The property has been renovated to a high standard using quality fixtures and fittings.
Sam and Jeff were great hosts providing any help and assistance with the property or local knowledge.
The location is ideal for the coastal path, right on the beach and close to pubs and restaurants. As we had fantastic weather using the balcony was a real treat!
If only all properties were like this!

"Superb accommodation in a great location"
Excellent holiday in a great location. The flat is just opposite the cove where you can watch the tide coming in and out from the windows. The furniture and equipment is of a high standard. We felt very welcome. West Wales is quiet and beautiful in the spring. Great places to visit include Cardigan, St David's, Cigerran Castle, Nevern and the National Trust farm at Llanerchaeron.

We rented this apartment over the Christmas period and could not get about much because of an elderly relative. All the facilities were first class and I was able to produce a Christmas lunch as easily as if I were in my own home.
The apartment is ideally situated overlooking a beach used by dog walkers and the local fishing boats. Consequently, there is always something going on. The balcony is simply superb and partially covered making it useful even in winter. It is situated next to a through road and I am not sure how busy this would normally be. It was no bother to us. Note that the steps to the apartment are quite steep so not suitable for less able people but the owners will give good advice.
The interior is newly fitted and tastefully done. Everything was spotlessly clean and the wood burner an added treat. There is some noise transfer between floors, we were in the first floor apartment, but no more than would be expected and again, did not bother us.
I think it would make a super base for a small family and great for a quiet getaway for a couple. The owners are very friendly and amenable. They lit the fire for us and left wine and cakes in the kitchen. Nothing was too much trouble.
Overall, a great find and I would love to return when the sun is shining!
