Pencwm is a self catering cottage in beautiful secluded grounds sleeping up to twelve plus cots, although also cosy enough for smaller parties to feel comfortable all the year round. It is a perfect holiday destination for short breaks, longer escapes, family and friends’ gatherings, and special occasions. Pencwm is also extremely child friendly and children of all ages love the freedom to play and explore within the large mature gardens and paddocks.
Pencwm has a 4-star rating from Visit Wales. There are six bedrooms, one of which is a twin bedded room on the ground floor. There is a cloakroom with large basin and wc downstairs, and two further bathrooms upstairs, one with shower, basin and wc, the other with bath with shower over, basin and wc. All the upstairs bedrooms have views onto the surrounding countryside with the Preselis in the distance.
The well equipped kitchen is the heart of the farmhouse with an oil fired AGA providing warmth and superb cooking facilities, and a dining table to seat twelve. There is a walk-in larder, wooden fitted units, plus fridge freezer, microwave / multi oven, dishwasher, small TV / DVD, ipod and dartboard! The washing machine / dryer is in the downstairs cloakroom.
The open-beamed living room has comfy sofas, an open fire, a TV / DVD, ipod and video player, games, DVDs and videos, and well-lined bookshelves opening up into a south-facing conservatory with an established grapevine.
The property has full oil fired central heating and oil, electricity, and coal and wood for the open fire are included in the price. We also provide all bed-linen and towels, apart from towels for the beach. WiFi internet access is available. Up to two well behaved dogs are welcome by prior arrangement . The garden is large and securely fenced, and has swings and a slide, a patio with garden furniture, a barbecue and badminton net, and large paddling pool for adults and children. There are tree rope swings for children and adults in the fields. Donkeys, dogs and cats are kept by the owner who lives in the original stone Welsh longhouse on the other side of the farmyard.
We have eight acres of hay meadows and a three acre water meadow for you to roam and enjoy together with a woodland garden containing a pond and a variety of native and planted flowers, shrubs and trees. A shallow stream runs through the yard where we have an original welsh longhouse and a stable block with loft.
There is ample car parking space and we are happy to accommodate a touring caravan or motorhome for larger parties and can supply electrical hook-up for £20 a night. By prior arrangement we can also accommodate a tent in the garden for £15 per person per night. Pets are welcome by prior arrangement. We charge £20 per dog per week and we normally levy a £50 deposit on arrival which is refunded in full providing that the house is left clean and undamaged
The village of Crymych, five miles away has every shop you need, including a bakery, butcher selling locally produced meat, wholefood shop, chemist and newsagent. Two local pubs are within three miles and there are excellent Chinese, Indian and fish and chips takeaways within a few miles.

A booking, whether via email or telephone, must be accompanied by a deposit.
Your booking is complete once you have received confirmation from us in writing (the ’Confirmation of Booking’) and following receipt of your 25% deposit in cleared funds.
Deposit
A non-refundable deposit of 25% of the full tariff is payable at the time of booking (the ‘Deposit’). The balance of the tariff must be paid at least 6 weeks before the start date. If your holiday begins less than 6 weeks from the time of booking, the full tariff is payable on booking.
A refundable housekeeping deposit of up the £50 shall be payable at the discretion of the owners (the ‘Refundable Housekeeping Deposit’). The ‘Refundable Housekeeping Deposit’ shall be held until the end of the letting when it will be refunded to you, subject to deductions for any damage to the property caused during the letting
Once a booking is made, should unforeseen circumstances occur and we are unable to let Pencwm Farmhouse, we will refund in full. Should unforeseen circumstances occur and you are unable to stay as arranged, we will refund in full less £30 admin charges - provided we can re let at the same rate. Pencwm farmhouse offers self catering holiday accommodation for up to twelve people for 2 – 7 days in spring, autumn and winter months, and weekly and fortnightly the rest of the year. The nearest village is five miles. There is no public transport to Pencwm so a car is essential for getting about. A taxi service runs from all the surrounding towns to outlying villages. Mobile phone reception is variable with Orange, Vodafone and O2 providing the strongest signals. Wifi internet access is available from certain points in the house. An online delivery service is available from Tescos and Asda. Doctors, dentist and railway station are 10 miles away and the nearest hospital with A & E 20 miles.
Two of the single beds are bunk beds and a further two are capable of being bunk beds with a trundle bed under. The downstairs cloakroom has a toilet and large washbasin. The lounge opens on to a south facing conservatory with established grapevine.

The house is approached by a stone drive and ample car parking is available close to the front and back doors. The surrounding area is level, with smooth surfaces immediately around the house and gravel on the yard. There are outside lights with sensors.
Outside there is a large, securely fenced garden surrounding the house. The fence is child and dog proof. There is wooden garden furniture, swings and a slide for younger children, plus a badminton net and equipment, and a large paddling pool which can be used when weather permits. There are tree swings in the meadow for adults and older children. The fields are all fairly level. The gate into the fields is just over the shallow stream which can be hopped across in the yard. The woodland garden is terraced with wide, level paths and fairly steep banks between levels, and a large pond. This garden is also securely fenced and gated.
No smoking inside Pencwm Farmhouse. There are fire alarms fitted throughout together with a fire extinguisher.
