"Luxury Barn, stunning decor, perfect for a weekend get away" (Michelle Feb 2015)
"Very peaceful stay in stunning barn conversion. Great local pub within walking distance serving cracking food and real ale!" (Steve Sept 2014)
"The barn was stunning, thoughtfully restored, beautifully decorated, very comfortable with all the mod-cons... a good configuration for a multi-family group" (Paula, party of 11, May 2013)
A high spec fabulously restored 19th Century listed barn set on a farm in the delightful Kent Weald. Together with the "Cow Shed", it forms luxury accommodation for up to 12 guests; speak to us if you want 14. Green Farm Barn provides a wonderful place for family get-togethers, two or three families holidaying together or groups of friends! We have 4 Rosettes with a Gold Award from VisitEngland.
With five super-king bedrooms, all with en-suites, (all bedrooms are fab, nobody has to compromise!); there are three ground floor bedrooms, one with full wheelchair access ideal for people with disabilities. The two upstairs bedrooms have 3 x 3ft single beds with shared en-suite, however this set up can be changed to super-king plus a single in each room. There is an additional fabulous family bathroom on the ground floor too. The large vaulted open plan sitting room with log-burning stove provides an ideal space for social gatherings. There is a modern, well equipped kitchen (including a range, American fridge/freezer and two dishwashers), a dining table for 14, plus a large reception/garden room with piano and big French windows opening onto the secluded courtyard. There is a 8 person sauna and a 6 person hot-tub available to guests for a small extra charge; both of these are also used by the owners.
Green Farm set deep in the Kent Weald, is just 10 minutes from Ashford International station (with good taxi services to and from Ashford) and its high speed trains to London (St Pancras in 37 minutes) and Eurostar trains to Paris and Brussels. Just 10 minutes from both J9 and J10 of the M20. A Green Lane leads into 12,500 acres of woodland, most of it ancient, much of it within designated Local Wildlife Sites and some of it designated as SSSI. Rolling farmland spreads down to Romney Marsh and the sea. This is a wonderful area to walk, run or ride bicycles. Wildlife abounds including deer in the woods, nightingales in spring, bats and owls in the evenings.
This is a great, central base to explore this part of Kent with plenty for everyone within a short drive: Castles, Gardens, Cathedral, Market Towns, Beaches abound! Tenterden is just 10 minutes drive away and Rye is only 20; the Designer Outlet Centre in Ashford provides great shopping, The Kings head, a five minute walk, has twice won Shepherd Neame "Food Pub of the Year".
Guests have full access to Green Farm and its 50 acres of traditional meadows and ancient woodland, with a variety of our free range farm animals. We also sell our free-range chicken, duck eggs and meat. We are proud to be accredited with "Produced in Kent" who recognise our commitment to the quality of locally sourced produce and services and to the attractiveness of Kent as a holiday destination.

The Kent region
Known as the Garden of England this area is famous for growing hops and apples, though there aren't many hops any more! Attractions in Kent include the beautiful castle of Leeds, Hever and Dover. Some fantastic beeches are accessed along the coast between Rye and Hythe. The quaint Cinque Port towns provide an enjoyable day out by the sea and the historic Dock yards at Chatham are great for old and young alike. The world famous cathedral at Canterbury and punting on the river Stour are not to be missed.
Shadoxhurst is a lovely village 5 miles south of Ashford towards the cinque port market town of Tenterden. It has a wonderful pub, the King's Head, within 5 minutes walking distance of the Barn, that is both a pub and a restaurant - twice winning Shepherd Neame food pub of the year. The towns of Canterbury, Ashford, Wye, Rye and Tenterden are within easy reach by car. The conservation area of Shadoxhurst is a rural community with horse riding, walking and cycling in some of Kent's most beautiful countryside including the amazing ancient woodlands right outside the barn.

"Our perfect weekend at beautiful Green Farm Barn"
A group of 12 of us stayed at Green Farm Barn for a hen weekend and words cannot say how impressed we were with the beautiful barn conversion, the location and how helpful and accommodating Martin and MaryAnn were in the lead up to and during our stay. The open plan kitchen, dining room and living room were brilliantly equipped, and set out to ensure that we could cook whilst being sociable! Use of the gas BBQ, sauna and outside terraces, as well as the Cow shed, also made our stay absolutely perfect. After a busy day on Saturday making the most of activities in the surrounding area, including eating at the wonderful local pub The Kings Head, it was a delight to come back to the comfort and luxury of the barn and what we all described as the most comfortable beds ever! Our only regret was that we couldn’t stay longer, but I am definitely hoping that we will be able to stay again soon, and this time bring our partners and go out on some of the walks which Martin so kindly left us the maps for. Thank you for an absolutely wonderful stay.
