The Hideaway, refurbished in 2021, and new to the holiday letting market, is a comfortable centrally heated double glazed ground floor flat providing all you could wish for in a well-furnished relaxing holiday home on the beautiful Isle of Bute.
Situated on a quiet lane just a five-minute walk from the ferry, this two-person
apartment offers one double bedroom, living room, with sofa bed, well-equipped kitchen, and bathroom with shower over bath. There is a sunny shared rear garden and a further garden to the front of the property giving a leafy outlook from the bedroom and kitchen windows. Bicycle storage, smart TV & free WiFi.

All within a five-minute walk from the flat are the promenade, with its stunning
ever-changing views across the bay, the gardens with award-winning floral
displays, the Isle of Bute discovery centre with tourist information and cinema,
the castle, the museum, ferry terminal, bus terminal, supermarkets, cafés and
restaurants.
NB to facilitate proportionally lower rates for longer stays there is an additional cleaning fee per booking.

The Owner
Having had close family connections with the island since a child, I returned to Bute in 2013, after many years living and working in London as a musician. My home now is midway between Rothesay and Port Bannatyne.

Getting There
The flat is easily reached by car or train from Glasgow to Wemyss Bay (approximately 50 minutes), then Calmac ferry
The ferry journey from Wemyss Bay to Rothesay is approximately 35 minutes.
On arrival in Rothesay the flat is a two minute drive or five minute walk.
Getting Around
A car is not essential but offers most flexibility and facilitate sightseeing. (Plentiful free parking opposite the flat).
Car hire is available from Car Bute
Buses run regularly from one end of the island to the other on the east side of the island.
In summer the open-top sight-seeing bus drives around the island every hour and it is possible to get off and on. The daily ticket for this bus is also valid on all local busses.
Cycling is a good way to get about as there are no extremely steep hills and the island is a very manageable size. Electric bicycle hire is available from the ferry port, and bicycles can be borrowed if available from Bute Community Cycling.
There are also plenty of taxis.
