Description

Newly refurbished Owl Cottage is one of 5 cottages available at Maesydderwen Holiday Cottages and has its own private fenced garden with raised patio area and hot tub. It is a peaceful getaway set in 42 acres of farmland and woodland, with tumbling waterfalls and streams making it an ideal location for a family holiday with your dog. There is plenty for the whole family to explore, whatever the weather either at the many tourist attractions in the area or at Maesydderwen.

The cottage is situated on the less explored, western fringes of the Brecon Beacons National Park and offers an array of walks for all abilities, we have also included route details in the welcome pack for walks from the cottage door or trek along the Beacons Way which passes only 1 mile away. The cottage is also ideally located for fishing and cycling; the River Towy, famous for Sea Trout, is only 2 miles away and Brechfa Forest is located nearby with a network of cycle tracks for both experienced and novice

“Holiday getaway”

Reviewed 1 Jan 2017

Brilliant, lovely location with lots of walks, castles and local amenities just a few miles away. Very tidy cottage and viewing the night sky from your hot tub is amazing.

Owner's reply: Thank you. We are located in a designated Dark Sky zone so the stars can be seen very clearly.

“Fantastic stay - what a gem”

Reviewed 18 Aug 2015

We loved our week in Llandeilo and found the accommodation of an extremely high standard in a great setting. Nothing was too much trouble for our hosts. From the perfect welcoming pack - so unexpected and enjoyed - the Bara Brith cake in particular was gorgeous, to the extensively stacked kitchen. Superb. Sitting in the hot tub each evening, with a glass of wine or two, watching the woodpeckers and jays fighting over the bird feeders is something we won't forget in a hurry. As for the location itself, there was so much to do. Stunning castles, beautiful beaches, lovely local towns - why is it not publicized better?

Owner's reply: We agree, there are lots of amazing things to do in the area and there is lots still to discover in this wonderful County. We are so happy you enjoyed your stay.

“Lovely cottage in a beautiful location - night sky is amazing!”

A family break to get away from it all & Owl Cottage was just perfect. Everything we needed plus some little extras - the Bara Brith & apple juice was lovely. We star gazed on a clear night during the Perseids meteor shower & had an amazing view. I enjoyed an early morning cuppa in the hot tub, watching the woodpeckers & jays on the bird feeders with the sun coming up over the trees, it was so peaceful & relaxing. There are some lovely walks around the farm & the view from the top of the hill is well worth the effort! Mary & Shaun were so friendly & kind we felt very welcome. I would definitely recommend Owl Cottage for a relaxing family break.

Owner's reply: We are so pleased you enjoyed your escape! The peace and tranquility is uninterrupted, also great timing to see the meteor shower!
