Location description from owner

The Wales region

The Brecon Beacons is an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, the Western Edge is less explored providing unspoilt tranquility. The Black Mountain, Picws Du or Fan Brycheiniog offer beautiful views of bleak landscapes and hidden lakes such as Llyn y Fan Fach. Carmarthenshire is Wales' biggest county offering everything from mountains to wooded valleys, rivers to beaches. The River Towy is famous for Sea Trout (locally known as Sewin) and Atlantic Salmon. It runs through the county and is only 2 miles from the cottage. Stunning beaches with miles of sand are only a short drive away at Llansteffan, Pendine, Tenby and The Gower.

Llandeilo

The area also offers many attractions for all ages including Carreg Cennen Castle with its underground tunnel to explore and tea rooms; the National trust properties of Dinefwr Park & Newton House and Dolaucothi Goldmines where you can pan for gold; the historic Aberglasney Gardens; Gwili Steam Railway where you can take an adventure back in time or enjoy a cream tea on board; the unforgettable sights at The Red Kite Feeding Centre; The Botanical Gardens of Wales with its large glass dome; and The National Showcaves where you can discover the stalactites and underground waterfalls or use your imagination in the Iron Age village and Dinosaur Park.
