Description

Luxurious renovated detached barn in a fantastic location -quiet hamlet called Leadmill in Hathersage with secure off road parking. Old Country Inn just 2 minutes walk away.

Pond View Cottage has its own unique pond side location. It is situated next to a working trout farm and the Owners home. Lovely patio next to the cottage with outdoor seating looking over the Mill Pond - nice place to sit whilst enjoying a coffee or a glass of wine.

Many of the traditional features of the barn have been preserved whist offering a stylish retreat within. Exposed stonework and oak lintels make a great feature.

Contemporary and rustic furniture. Stunning modern kitchen which is fully equipped. Electric log flame fire, Flat screen TV with built in DVD Player. Free View, radio and quality Bluetooth Speaker system.

The living accommodation is on the first floor to take advantage of the glorious views of the rural landscape and the Mill Pond from the cottage. The bedroom is located on the ground floor with a super king sized bed to provide a great nights sleep. Perfect for couples but this can be separated in to two twin beds upon prior request. Additionally there is an occasional use sofa bed in the living room that would suit one adult or up to 2 young children/ teenagers.

It is a great base for exploring the Peak District. There are lovely walks straight from the doorstep so that you do not need to rely on using your car.The River Derwent passes near to Leadmill and there is a picturesque bridge just 2 minutes away from the cottage from where you can take pleasant riverside walks through ancient woodland. It is a very short walk to the local shops, cafes and bars in Hathersage.

Hathersage is a popular choice for walkers, cyclists and climbers. There are plenty of walking routes, cycling trails, abseiling, climbing and riding routes close to the cottage.

Getting around

The cottage is in a great location. The village centre is within walking distance. The railway station is a 5 minute walk away, with good network rail links to Manchester and Sheffield. (Journey time from London to Sheffield by train is 2 hours). The cottage is close to bus routes to explore Derbyshire and Sheffield. Many of the walks are straight from the cottage so you will not need the use of a car.

“Restful break”

Lovely holiday in this great little cottage. Cottage is beautifully fitted out and so relaxing. A great feature is the choice of outdoor seating so you’re guaranteed to catch the sun!

“Pond view cottage”

We stayed in this lovely cottage in August. It has beautiful views being located on the edge of Hathersage village. It is very peaceful and has the bonus of having friendly and helpful staff on the adjoining trout farm. It is ideally positioned to visit all the wonderful walks and places of interest in the peaks. There are some great walks right on the doorstep too! Bal and James , the owners, were very helpful ( even though they were on their holiday too!) when we needed some advice. We definitely recommend this cottage .

“Pond View Cottage, what a place!”

This little cottage just outside Hathersage is absolutely fantastic. We arrived in darkness and was greeted by James who was grew and showed us around. The cottage itself is brilliantanly layed out upside down as to create more space and light and works perfectly. During the weekend we climbed Mam Tor, on the Saturday we visited Hathersage, Castleton and Edale. In Sunday we traveled to Bakewell and Matlock all worth a visit while up in the area. We ate out at the Scotsmans Pack, and The Plough, which were both delicious meals. We loved our stay and would really recommend the cottage to our friends and anyone else!

We had a wonderful stay at this lovely little cottage on a working trout farm. The location was ideal, within walking distance of Hathersage and close to many favourite walks in the Peak District. We received a warm welcome and communication with the owners was good from the moment of booking. The cottage itself was warm and cosy. We will definitely return!

Pond view cottage was brilliant. It had everything we wanted including a most comfy bed, beautiful decor and views to die for. A most warm and genuine welcome from the owners who wanted to know we had everything we needed and who were on hand to help and advise. We will definitely go back again. Only a short walk from the village and a pub right opposite and a train station into Manchester, apart from all the wonderful walking.

Absolute perfect little getaway in a perfect setting. A quirky little upsidedown cottage, living room and kitchen on the first floor with spectacular views from the window. The cottage is beautiful and spotlessly clean, comfy beds and the shower is pretty good. Pub/ restaurant just across the road :) also loads of shops, pubs and restaurants just a little walk away. Fantastic place for a walkers ,starting from outside the cottage door. The owners Bal and James are the best hosts , really friendly too. They were on hand if we needed anything, but pretty much left us to enjoy the cottage, which was great. Thanks Guys..we had the best time and will certainly be back soon! P.s the wine went down a treat !

How do damage deposits work?

In most cases, you don’t pay a damage deposit up front. Instead, we save your payment details securely and you’re only charged in the event of damage to the property.

Occasionally, you will pay a damage deposit up front as part of the total rental cost. In this case, the owner has 10 days after you check out to report any damage. If they don’t, we’ll return your deposit. If their claim is successful, we’ll deduct the agreed cost and return the remainder.

If Bal (the owner) agrees, they’ll send you a revised quote outlining the changes. You can review and accept/decline this from the Manage your holiday booking page. You’ll have 48 hours to take action before the revised quote expires.
