The Hayloft at High Forest Cottages is a stunning two bedroom, two bathroom cottage. It can accommodate up to eight people in the peaceful North of the New Forest. You will love staying here with just the two of you, with friends or family, enjoying long walks in the Forest or visiting one of the quaint Forest villages. Returning after a day exploring, you can enjoy cooking together in the spacious kitchen and having long leisurely meals around the large dining table, before relaxing in front of the fire.

Nestled in the ancient North Ridge of The New Forest National Park, The Hayloft at High Forest Cottages provides a peaceful hideway to relax and enjoy the unique beauty of the forest.

Situated within the forest boundary, inside the cattle grid areas, our regular visitors include the famous ponies and cattle that make the forest such a stunning wildlife environment. Whilst deer are a rare sight, we often welcome a small herd into the paddocks to enjoy some free grazing!

The Hayloft is a beautifully decorated and furnished two bedroom cottage, with its own large sunny and private enclosed garden and gorgeous views across the forest beyond.

The beautiful and spacious open plan living area is perfect for family and friends to relax. Heated by underfloor heating with the addition of a log burner, ensures it is cosy whatever the weather. A basket of wood and kindling is provided for you and you can top this up from the log store throughout your stay. One of the sofas turns into an extra double bed with storage underneath for bedding. The large Smart TV is connected to the WiFi so you can log in to your own Netflix and Amazon accounts.

The kitchen is well-equipped and you can easily cook a Sunday roast if you fancy. There are plenty of pans and dishes, an oven with grill and electric hob. The large fridge/freezer, plenty of storage space and the dishwasher give you that home from home feeling. Dishwasher tablets as well as washing up liquid and tea towels are available for your use. Milk, tea, sugar and ground coffee together with a cafetiere are provided so you can settle in as soon as you arrive. The dining table with seating for eight will facilitate those all important dinner conversations.

Both bedrooms feature a comfortable super king sized bed, which you can choose to have made up as two single beds if required. Additionally each bedroom has a single pull out bed for extra flexibility. All beds are made up with luxury cotton sheets, a 10 tog microfibre duvet and two microfibre pillows per person. Both rooms have an open wardrobe with hanging space and shelves, a mirror and hair dryer.

The large upstairs family bathroom has a bath with shower over, sink with mirror over and toilet. The downstairs shower room features a large walk in shower, sink with mirror over and toilet. Lovely fluffy white towels and face cloths are provided for your stay.

A lovely large patio garden, enclosed by a 4ft high fence and hedge is the perfect spot for a morning coffee or a lazy afternoon. In the evenings you can light the BBQ for some alfresco dining and the outside lighting extends your evenings after sunset. Parking for two cars is available next to The Hayloft and further parking is available if needed. The shared laundry with washing machine and dryer is available should you need it.

Children aged two and under are not counted towards the total number of guests staying. When you book please add a note in the comments section so we can provide for them. Having twins ourselves we understand how a few extra touches can make travelling a lot easier. We can provide travel cots, high chairs, a baby bath and bottle steriliser for you. There is a stair gate at the top of the stairs, a baby monitor as well as some toys, books and games. In the kitchen you will find plastic plates, cups and cutlery. If there is anything else we can provide please do ask.

How do damage deposits work?

In most cases, you don’t pay a damage deposit up front. Instead, we save your payment details securely and you’re only charged in the event of damage to the property.

Occasionally, you will pay a damage deposit up front as part of the total rental cost. In this case, the owner has 10 days after you check out to report any damage. If they don’t, we’ll return your deposit. If their claim is successful, we’ll deduct the agreed cost and return the remainder.

If Astrid (the owner) agrees, they’ll send you a revised quote outlining the changes. You can review and accept/decline this from the Manage your holiday booking page. You’ll have 48 hours to take action before the revised quote expires.
