There cannot be many villas in or around Lagos that combine all the following features. Ideally situated in the peaceful countryside for utter relaxation, you could literally hear a pin drop! However yet only 1 mile from the splendid old town of Lagos with its lovely squares, fountains and pedestrian streets full of restaurants,pavement cafes and bars.

Miradouro has a private heated swimming pool (10x 5m) which has sloping steps into the shallow end and recently retiled which is lovely for little ones. Pool heating is available at £100 per week. We also have a built in barbecue with adjacent eating area by the pool and a second outdoor eating area on the large first floor terrace with panoramic views over the bay of Lagos and to the Monchique hills.

There is also a large lawned area, ideal for ball games, so children have plenty of space for running around. The villa is very baby friendly we provide all the kit to lighten your load - cot/playpen, High chair, digital baby monitor, steriliser and bottle warmer, even a few toys as well for little ones.

All bedrooms have ceiling fans, just as effective as air conditioning in the hottest months and much more environmentally friendly.

We also now have WiFi however the WiFi in Portugal isn’t like the UK as fibre yet to reach the algarve so ok to check email, Facebook etc just not great for streaming..of music etc in high season.

The villa is managed by Rosemary Reynolds who has over 30 years experience and is well able to deal with all formalities and any local difficulties. The villa is available from 2pm on the day of arrival to 10am on the day of departure to enable the maid to do a really good clean between lets.Winter lets include the winter sitting room, with slow burning log fire so only three bedrooms. The villa is equipped with electric blankets, fan heaters and has a current gas safety certificate.TOURIST LICENCE. it is now the law that all rented villas must have a licence. All health and safety requirements must be installed, some of which may seem a little silly such as the sign proclaiming that no lifeguard is on duty - profoundly disappointing those hoping for a bay watch babe - however it is most important that the licence be obtained as those without it can be shut down, guests or not! Our villa has been inspected and awarded it’s licence and its awarded its tourist license 4401/AL.

The main villa has entrance hall with telephone leading to Master bedroom with twin beds, brand new en suite marble bathroom and patio doors onto pool terrace, all in the ground floor. Bedrooms 2 and 3 with twin beds sharing 2nd brand new marble bathroom. All bedrooms have large fitted wardrobes and are furnished with hand painted furniture from the Alentejo region of Portugal. A passage from the hallway leads to the extension with laundry room and kitchenette for poolside drinks and barbecue crockery. There is also a winter sitting room, with slow log burning fire which is closed in the summer and never let separately. For larger parties this room can sleep an additional 2 people at a supplement of 20% of the appropriate rental. It is a very large room with en suite bathroom and stunning views to the Monchique hills. Cool air fans are available for all rooms in the high summer. Marble stairs lead to the first floor with a large living room and patio doors onto terrace with outdoor eating area. Marvellous views across the bay of Lagos, to the Monchique hills and over the new Marina . Sitting area and dining area, we have WiFi which provides a small TV service all channels BBC, ITV, Channel 4 and 5 and many more besides, via broadband. Fully equipped kitchen and upstairs cloakroom. There is a small library of paper backed books for your use.

Walled front garden with kidney shaped swimming pool (10x5 metres) surrounded by a large terrace with sunbeds. Built in barbecue with adjacent eating area. Optional pool heating is available for £100 per week.. There is a lawned area surrounded by beautiful shrubs and a pergola covered in stunning bougainvillea providing a shady area. To the rear of the villa is a car park and a citrus orchard, providing an ample supply of lemons for your gin&tonics!

Why can't I call Amy (the owner) before booking?

How do damage deposits work?

In most cases, you don’t pay a damage deposit up front. Instead, we save your payment details securely and you’re only charged in the event of damage to the property.

Occasionally, you will pay a damage deposit up front as part of the total rental cost. In this case, the owner has 10 days after you check out to report any damage. If they don’t, we’ll return your deposit. If their claim is successful, we’ll deduct the agreed cost and return the remainder.

How do I edit my booking?

You can request to change the dates or number of people on your booking via the Manage your holiday booking page. To change your holiday dates use the Edit booking button. If you need to change the number of guests staying then send Amy (the owner) a message.

If Amy (the owner) agrees, they’ll send you a revised quote outlining the changes. You can review and accept/decline this from the Manage your holiday booking page. You’ll have 48 hours to take action before the revised quote expires.
