Description from owner

Description

The lodge is perfect for couples wanting a romantic getaway, friends looking for an escape to the country and families in need of some quality time together.

There are a wealth of activities to enjoy in the area - from horse-riding to sailing, golfing to fishing. The lodge is great for dog walkers and hikers can explore the vast network of tracks and trails through forests and along shores and we are within easy reach of the Arrochar Alps.

Double-glazed throughout and recently refurbished to a high standard, this traditional log cabin is the perfect home-from-home. It is cosy, well-equipped, tastefully decorated and comfortably furnished. The veranda is gated and we have blackout curtains in the bedrooms. The twin bedroom has full-sized beds suitable for adults and children and can be converted into a comfortable double or even a study. Guests are provided with hotel-quality luxury towels and bed linen at no extra cost.

A new kitchen has been installed with an induction hob, steam oven, quiet dishwasher, extractor fan and under-cabinet lighting. The kitchen is well equipped with quality cookware and utensils. NEW Italian leather sofas are a lovely new feature of the living room - they are soft but sturdy and very, very comfortable!

The famous Puck's Glen walking trails begin behind the lodges and Benmore Botanical Gardens are a short walk away along a scenic track. The lodge is one of a small group that form the quiet, privately-owned Lamont Lodges which see many visitors returning year after year. You can relax on your own private covered veranda and take in the surrounding forests and mountains. We regularly see red squirrels, many types of birds and deer. We look forward to welcoming you to Ruskin Lodge.

Please note that £30 electricity allowance is included in week-long stays and £15 for short stays from 1st April-1st September. Usage above this, and at other times of the year, is charged at cost price (currently 14.385p per kWh (day) 10.185p per kWh (night)) and is deducted from your damage deposit. Guests are given the meter key to check readings.

“Ruskin lodge”

Reviewed 28 Oct 2018

Wow what a fantastic time we had the lodge itself is cosy well equipped to high standard but the real gem is the location we had a small dog with us and the walks into puks glen were magical and big thanks to Abigail hopefully we can get back next year

Owner's reply: Thank you so much for taking the time to review the lodge! So glad you found it well equipped and the location suited you - it is a great area for dog walking and Puck's Glen is such a highlight. You are all welcome back any time!

“Amazing”

Reviewed 24 Aug 2017

I booked the lodge for 2 small families staying together to attend a friends wedding in Blaimore. The accommodation was amazing, good size, views, comfortable beds, dvds and fire stick for when we relaxed. Puck Glen walk was on our door step which was like an enchanted forest. The children loved it. Abigail was a perfect host and responded immediately when contacted. She left supplies bread, milk, eggs, tea, coffee, bottle of fizz and the essential condiments which was most helpful as we arrived late at night with 2 young children. I can't reccomend this lodge enough for a little break away from the busy lives we lead. Real comfort and relaxation.

Owner's reply: Thank you so much for taking the time to write this lovely review, and I am so pleased you and your family enjoyed the stay. I was glad I could help get in some extra supplies - it sounds like you had a long journey - and I am delighted you got to explore the wonderful Pucks Glen. Do get in touch if you'd like to stay again!

“Excellent again”

Reviewed 2 Apr 2017

This is the second time i have stayed here, perfect for walks and the outdoors. Amazing lodge very comfortable and has everything you could ever need. Perfect stay.

Owner's reply: Thank you for your kind review! So glad you enjoyed your second stay and it is the best compliment when guests want to stay again. You are welcome back anytime.

“Lovely place,stunning surroundings”

Reviewed 20 Jun 2014

We had a great time on a 4 night stay, even with a slightly grumpy 2 and a half year old with us. The lodge had everything we needed. It was clean and very comfortable. The area is stunning. What out for the midges though!!! Avon Soft so Smooth (is that what its called?) works wonders with those though!! And we left our daughters favourite buddy , and Abigail was kind enough to send him through the post so we only had to endue two nights of worry when we got home :) We thoroughly recommend Ruskin Lodge

Owner's reply: Many thanks for your kind review - delighted you all enjoyed your holiday and I am so relieved we were able to find and return your daughter's 'friend'.
