Self catering river-side cottage in rural County Down

This is an opportunity to stay in a really ecological cottage, set in a very attractive location right beside a river, in the grounds

of the owners converted Mill. The cottage was featured in Living Design Summer 2010 and was built with

hemp-crete walls and a grass roof. A short film is available on YouTube for those interested

in the innovative construction.

Our visitors really enjoy the generous internal & exterior spaces which are

designed to enjoy the space and light with a simple and natural style.

It has 2 bedrooms, one with a double bed and one with bunk beds. There is

level access throughout the cottage and the shower is a level access wetroom

(no bath). There is underfloor heating throughout, and it is a very

comfortable environment due to the high levels of insulation. There is also a

wood-burning stove.

The cottage has a sun-filled veranda on two sides with table and chairs on the

west-facing veranda to catch the evening light. The house is set in a natural

attractive garden with young orchard and vegetable plots, and has access to

the river bank with diverse bird and wildlife.

So come to this restful place and fall asleep to the sound of the river.

How do damage deposits work?

In most cases, you don’t pay a damage deposit up front. Instead, we save your payment details securely and you’re only charged in the event of damage to the property.

How do I edit my booking?

You can request to change the dates or number of people on your booking via the Manage your holiday booking page. To change your holiday dates use the Edit booking button. If you need to change the number of guests staying then send Rachel (the owner) a message.

If Rachel (the owner) agrees, they’ll send you a revised quote outlining the changes. You can review and accept/decline this from the Manage your holiday booking page. You’ll have 48 hours to take action before the revised quote expires.
