Description

A contemporary and pretty cottage down a quiet lane close to the centre of Crickhowell and the church; so ideal for being able to just walk out in the evenings for a meal – where you will be spoilt for choice with some excellent pubs and restaurants in the close proximity. A great place to stay for a romantic weekend or just being able to explore The Black Mountains and Brecon Beacons. This would be a perfect base for walking or mountain biking – and would be fine for visitors with no cars.

Caboodles Cottage is situated in the small market town of Crickhowell which has many individual shops, ancient inns and plenty to do for visitors and residents. Surrounding Crickhowell are the picturesque villages of Llangattock, Llanbedr, Llangenny, Glangrwyney, Tretower and Cwmdu, each with its special character.

Crickhowell

There is plenty to do in and around Crickhowell. The annual Art Trail of studios and galleries during the Spring Bank Holiday weekend gives access to a surprising number of artists in their studios. And the Walking Festival in February – March provides a range a walks for all levels of ability - a great introduction to the many and varied walks available in the area.

There are also excellent routes for cyclists, many opportunities for riding, and a variety of 'adventure' activities available locally. Fishing is available on the river Usk, which is also well known amongst canoeists.

A range of historic sites, such as Tretower Court and the Unesco World Heritage site at Blaenavon and Big Pit are easily accessible from here.

Crickhowell lies on the A40 Trunk road, providing easy access from the UK Motorway system, only an hour from the Severn bridge.
