Convenient, pretty apartment with popular bar right next door

Pros: Apartment is clean & looks great. If you want a convenient place to stay, this apt is perfect. Bus stop is 1/2 block away. Taxi stand across the street next to church parking lot. Very close to C d Fiori & P Navona, as well as MANY wonderful restaurants. Real grocery store at end of street. Most all of Rome is pretty walk-able from here. Comfy bed, working kitchen, well laid out, terrific for 2. Quick, easy check in/out with nice guy, who is easy to reach. Decent & secure WIFI. Door into apt is directly on the street, so no steps & bedroom is one room in so less street noise. Open bedroom window you see in pix now has a real window with blinds on it. AC in bedroom & LR. Good enough storage space for 2-4 people. 'Huge' (for Europe) walk in shower. Nicely appointed & well thought out apartment. Cable TV has about 1,000 channels (all in Italian, except for 1 in French) Privacy curtains at front door & window. Cons: Many people smoking, talking & drinking all night right outside your door. That smoke comes thru the opening under the front door. Motorcycle parking outside front door (which is not bad most of the time) Share a long wall with the bar next door that has loud, live music Friday nights. Music is VERY loud until VERY late, shared wall is in LR, bedroom & bathroom. When speaking to rental agent about the noise, he suggested using earplugs. Monday nights the bar has another live event that is less loud, but we still heard every word for many hours. The bathroom is the loudest because the stage is directly on the other side of that wall. Bedroom walls don't extend to ceiling. (Owner is an architect) Step down from hall/bedroom to bathroom hall. (Has optional smart light in stair riser) Door header to bathroom quite low, forget & you will hit your head if you're 5'9"+. Bathroom shower head needs replacing. (They know) Likely not enough hot water for 2 showers in a row, but heats up pretty quickly between. Down comforters & pillows, no blankets. (Not good for down allergies) Would we stay here again? Yes, but NEVER on another Friday night!!! I'd also jam a towel under the door so the smokers in the street didn't bother me so much. see more

    Wonderful location

Perfect location. Charming apartment. Picked up at airport by (crazy) driver which was an adventure unto itself. Met at apartment by very helpful manager. Note that guests sleeping on living room sofa bed must walk through bedroom to get to bathroom. Also there is currently scaffolding in front of windows so you cannot open shutters and see square. Noisy on sofa bed at night plus very poor mattress. see more

    Great apartment, great location.

Everything was perfect (except the uncomfortable angle-formed sofa cushions). Communications with Lucrezia were prompt before our arrival, and Raffaele was very helpful on arrival. The apartment is very clean, with basic modern furniture. WiFi but no CD player, The almost hidden little square is very quiet at all times, even though the busy Via Arenula is just 2 streets away. Highly recommended. The Largo Argentina bus stop is just 2 minutes away, and the frequent buses 62 and 64 go to many areas of interest. Buy bus tickets in any bar that has the "T" for tobacco sign on the front. The best restaurants in the neighborhood are Renato e Luisa (exceptional, with a very imaginative menu) and in the ghetto area: Da Giggetto and Al Pompiere. see more

    Excellent location

The apartment location and price is very reasonable. The apartment is very spacious. The laundry and kitchen is definitely useful. We stayed here for 5 days and got used to the stairs (6 flights). As far as linen, it was like a 5 star hotel for the linens provided. We would have rated the apartment excellent but we think the toilet needs some work as you have to flush it over and over again. The shower is a bit tight and needs some light. The Jacuzzi however comes in handy after a long days walk. Overall, we liked the price and location. see more

    Great location and owner

This apartment is in a great location with an easy 20-30 minute walk to all the attractions in Rome. It is exactly as represented by the owner Enrique who was very good at returning messages prior to booking and while at the apartment. There is a very small 2 person lift that gets you to a short flight of stairs so it is easily accessable while on a high floor overlooking the square. The owner arranged pick-up and drop off from the airport which was great and met us to open the apartment late in the evening. There is no shortages of restaurants or bars in the square. The market opens up in the morning and closes by late afternoon and the square is cleaned up nicely. The deck is great for watching people in the evening or having breakfast in the morning. There were a couple of late night partiers that could be heard early in the morning, but I don't expect it would be different anywhere else in central Rome. If you get tired of walking taxi's are easily available and there is also good bus access, although we did not try. No phone, but great wireless. Great place to stay for a week while touring Rome see more
