This ground floor apartment is situated in the private condominium / resort of Estrela da Luz and is operated by Oceanico Resorts, who have featured on many UK and Irish property and travel TV programmes including 'A Place in the Sun'. We bought the apartment for just that reason, our place in the sun and we have spent considerable effort in ensuring that it is furnished and decorated to the very highest standard of comfort. We feel that it provides a real 'home from home' experience for the ideal family or group holiday with every possible comfort and convenience provided. The luxurious Estrela complex provides something for all with a choice of three outdoor pools, one for adults only, an Elemis health and beauty spa with jacuzzi, sauna and heated pool, fully equipped gymnasium and exercise studios with daily classes. Tennis, basketball courts as well as the famous 'Steve Davis' snooker room. and a children's playground and club complete the facilities provided for everyone

The Algarve / West Algarve region

The local town of Lagos is steeped in history and a wonderful place for cruises,and watersports. Visit such wonderful places as Sagres, the most westerly point of the Algarve as well as the beautiful village of Burgeau. A trip to the mountains of Monchique is a must.
Praia da Luz / Estrela da Luz area
The village of Praia da Luz has a genuinely friendly, relaxed holiday atmosphere and offers everything from shopping facilities , a variety of excellent restaurants offering both Portuguese and International cuisine , bars as well as a safe, sandy beach offering a variety of water sports. The beach has its own Blue Flag as well as full time life guards on duty. Occasionally the Atlantic rollers come in and its time to grab your surfboard and have some serious fun! The historic town of Lagos is only 6km away Here you will find the stunning Marina offering daily boat trips and diving instruction, the old town with its narrow cobbled streets with pedestrian squares offering live music and entertainment - just perfect on a summer's evening. There is a fantastic range of restaurants from very Portuguese to more international fare as well as bars, nightclubs and a lively scene for the young at heart. Other beautiful villages and beaches include Burgau and Salema - a must to visit
How to get there
Fly to Faro or Lisbon. Estrela da Luz is 60 km from Faro airport and the journey takes about fifty minutes by motorway. From Lisbon the jorney is about 300km and obviously takes considerably more time. Car hire is available from http://www.algarvedriver.com who we use when we travel to Portugal. Transport can be arranged by taxi at an approximate cost of of €60 or if you prefer to see some of the countryside a train goes from Faro to nearby Lagos for a couple of euro. If you wish transport can be arranged to and from the airport with a local Luz company who provide this service for many of our guests.

Further details indoors: Two of the three bedrooms have their own private terraces - a very large south facing which is furnished with sun loungers, parasol and its own hammock - great for private sunbathing. A smaller terrace is located off the second double bedroom on the ground level and also has its own furniture for that quiet al fresco breakfast or late evening drink. The third bedroom, ideally suited for young children has two single beds and does not have a terrace. Additional fold-up beds are provided as well as a cot, if necessary. A key feature of this apartment is its safety with each of the bedrooms located on the ground level and full view of the pools.A large plasma TV/DVD is provided in the livingroom wih an additional TV/DVD in the main bedroom.
Further details outdoors: The apartment overlooks one of the two outdoor pools which is ideal for sunbathing with ample sunloungers and palm trees for shading. One of the pools is for adults use only with the pool on the lower level suitable for children with its own toddler pool. Choose from the poolside bar for lunch, dine casually in the Hugo Beatty Bar or for more formal dining eat at the excellent Calabaza restaurant on site. The gymnasium and spa health centre are but a few paces from the apartment and provide everything you could want from pampering to a full fitness regime. Football and basketball courts are a short step away and at night time enjoy a cocktail in the far which hosts regular live entertainment or play a game of snooker in the Steve Davis Snooker room.

The reception staff are on hand 24 hours per day to meet you and fill you in on all of the many facilities available and provide you with your resort pass €10 per person payable to the resort for courtesy transport to Lagos and the local golf courses, complimentary pool towels. A full kids club programme is organised throughout the summer with a fitness programme for the active adults.Cleaning and linen change is provided weekly at no additional cost. We ask you however, to vacate the apartment by 10am on the day of departure to facilitate cleaning and laundry change.
Conditions
A booking deposit of 25% is required to secure the apartment. The balance is payable eight weeks prior to departure along with a security deposit against damage or breakages. This deposit is returned immediately on your return home once the apartment has been checked.
If you wish to book our apartment for longer than two weeks we are happy to discuss terms with you. We are flexible on changeover day and will try to fit in with your flight itinerary
