The Turquoise Coast/Lycia region
The Turquoise coast has many historical sites on your doorstep, Amphitheatres, tombs and sunken cities. The area is full of Lycian ruins and stunning scenery waiting to be explored. Torquoise water for snorkelling and swimming, pine forest leading to the mountains where you will find fresh trout restaurants, twisted grape vines, and total silence.
A coastline offering secluded coves, white sandy beaches, spectacular gorges, traditional villages, national parks, culture, excellent cuisine, and beautiful scenery, larger towns for shopping.
You will find different towns along the coast, some small fishing villages, other's with a large range of shops, one thing all guest have commented on is the kind, warm hospitality shown to them by the Turkish people.
Visit the birth place of St Nicholas at Patara beach where sea turtles now lay their eggs in a protected area. A fantastic 18 kilometer stretch of sandy beach with beach restaurant and Turkish pancake cafe.
Kalkan is settled on the slopes of a commanding mountain range overlooking the bay.
Kalkan area
Kalkan has an air of tranquility that other's have lost, narrow paved streets lined with vine covered cafe's and small shops lead you down to the harbour where you can sit in the shade and watch the boats leaving the harbour.
At night Kalkan offers excellent cuisine from the many roof top restaurants. For the young at heart visit a choice of bars and dance the night away under the stars. If you don't want to leave the romance of Patara Prince resort you have a choice of restaurants that also offer very high standards of food, excellent service and reasonable prices.
Kalkan has a market on a Thursday from dawn to dusk where you can buy locally produced veg, fruit, dairy produce, your usual "cheap as chips" fake designer wear, spices, pottery and handbags.
You will find various excursions operating from Kalkan, visiting many historical sites, towns and mountain villages, you can hire a boat for the day and visit different coves (try the mud pack in one of the coves, works wonders for the skin I am told) lunch is prepared on deck, along with afternoon tea!
Visit the sunken city at Kekova where you can still see the remains of a Roman harbour, or explore the spectacular Sakilkent Gorge the longest and deepest in Turkey.
Fethiye offers the largest market in the area and has an excellent gold centre.
A Jeep safari is a brilliant day out, visit Meis a Greek Island off Kas ( the next town along the coast ).
Canoeing, horse riding, fishing all available.............or just relax by the pool!

What can I say apart from THANK YOU! We all really did have such a fantastic time. Your villa is gorgeous, in a great location and has great facilities around it. The decor is lovely and it really does have everything you need, with lovely finishing touches. L Morris, Luton
Your villa was exactly what we were looking for and everyone thoroughly enjoyed themselves. I have been singing the praises of Kalkan to my Mum and I suspect my parent's may consider it for the future. S Calder, Scotland
Hi Sarah, We got back safe yesterday evening after a brilliant week in Kalkan. The villa, Patara Prince and Kalkan were all fantastic and provided Mum and I with exactly what we needed - a complete chill. The weather was brilliant too. I didn't want to come back! The villa is very comfortable and has everything in it that might be needed. The nights we didn't venture into town we spent cooking and pottering about.
We would love to go back to Patara Prince and Villa Kismet and will definitely contact you next year to book up again! Many thanks indeed for providing us with such great accommodation for our holiday. Kind regards, Kyla and Breda.
We thoroughly enjoyed our holiday and have completely fallen in love with Kalkan. The villa was great and the views were fantastic, they took our breath away when we first saw them.
