About the home

Guzel means beautiful & this truly describes the villa with its own private pool, it is positioned on the peaceful hillside with panoramic views overlooking Kalkan Village & the Bay.

The villa has been recently built to an extremely high standard with antique marbled floors, featuring limestone walls and spiral staircases to the main bedrooms.

The villa is tastefully furnished and decorated, with air conditioning to provide comfort throughout the villa. The spacious open plan lounge features a stone fireplace and French doors which open onto the large terrace and private swimming pool.

The dining area seats six and the kitchen is well equipped with large fridge/freezer, electric cooker, gas hob, microwave, washing machine and ample ancillary kitchen items.

The main double bedroom has access from both spiral staircases with en suite shower room, and an extremely large balcony (perfect for that pre dinner tipple) with views overlooking Kalkan bay.

The first floor bedroom has twin beds and is approached by the towers spiral staircase, and has an en suite bath/shower room and large balcony, again with a great view.

The ground floor double bedroom has an en suite bath/shower room and direct access to the terrace.

Further details outdoors:
The private fresh water swimming pool is larger than normal and is illuminated at night and is serviced daily.

The terrace is spacious and well equipped with sun loungers and table to seat eight for meals to be enjoyed outside under the pergola. The terrace has a shaded area with chairs settee coffee table & BBQ

The main balcony seats eight has a barbecue and wonderful views over Kalkan.

Further details

A daily maid service is provided and the towels and bed linen are changed twice weekly. ( beach & sunbed towels not provided).

A welcome pack of bread, cheese, milk, tea & coffee is provided.

Transport by car or minibus can be arranged from the airport to the villa or car hire can be arranged

Conditions

Due to the hillside location, the spiral staircases (only one bedroom has ground floor access) and the deep swimming pool, that has no shallow end, the villa is not suitable for young non swimmers and the infirm.

No smoking please in the villa, outside no problem.

On signed acceptance of your booking, a non-refundable deposit of one third of the total hire fee is required. The remaining balance is due and required eight weeks prior to the departure date.

Kalkan, described as Turkeys best kept secret, is a small, sophisticated resort set on the Turkish Mediterranean Riviera.

A Sunday Times article likened visitors to Kalkan to those attracted to Tuscany and the Dordogne, we agree entirely, Kalkan is for the discerning holiday maker.

Hire a car or join a local excursion to visit one of the many historical ancient sites such as Patara, Xanthos, Tios, a trip to the Taurus mountains or the amazing Saklikent Gorge.

The Kalkan area

The town nestles on the foot of the Taurus mountains and was once a small fishing village, it is now a charming holiday resort consisting of cobbled streets, housing interesting shops selling jewellery, carpets and local goods. One can enjoy bartering with the shopkeepers and their hospitality offering of apple tea.

Enjoy a beer at the bars on the picturesque harbour, admire the gullets, the fishing and sailing boats, or hire for the day your privately skippered boat and be taken to the coves for a swim in the turquoise sea, sunbathe, enjoy the food, all at unbelievable value.

Visit the small pebbled beach close by the harbour or the local beach clubs and enjoy the water sports available, such as snorkeling, scuba diving and wind surfing.

Enjoy mountain walks, climbing, trekking, caving and parascending, have a relaxing Turkish bath or massage to ease away the aches and pains.

In the evening sample some of the finest food at the harbour side restaurants or those with roof top terraces offering views of Kalkans wonderful illuminated nightlife.

“fantastic” Our holiday set off easy the way Len organised the transfers etc. The villa is quite beutiful and in a great location, superb views across the bay and only a short walk from Kalkan but far enough away to be peaceful. We loved the large terraceand eating alfresco under the pergola and shaded seating area with BBQ. The swimmng pool is quite large, great for swimming.Tthe agent was helpful and the pool man and maids were friendly and kept the villa very clean and tidy. Kalkan is a lovely holiday resort we liked the roof top restaurants and the harbour side with attractive bars. the food is very good and the Turkish wine surprisingly good.We shall be back !!!

“Quality!!! Enough said really” This vacation was probably the easiest to set up we have every booked. Len's assistance and advice were 2nd to none. I think he covered all the bases and this made for a relaxed stress free stay. The villa was excellent and what a superb view especially from the balcony. Kalkan is a lovely town with very friendly folk and the beauty of it is is that it's free from over commercialization. The food is superb, I would recommend Trio's, great service and the staff are excellent. I would highly recommend staying at this villa. We intend to again in the very near future. “A great base for your holiday in Kalkan” Our first time in Kalkan, but certainly not our last. Chose Villa Guzel as we felt its location offered flexibility - you can relax by the pool, walk down into Kalkan and enjoy all that it has to offer or use it as a base from which to explore all the ancient historical sites and beautiful scenery in this area. We were not disappointed. The villa is well appointed and has all that you need to live very comfortably. The bedrooms are spacious, light and airy. I appreciated the mosquito net over each bed. The pool is a good size if you like to get some exercise as well as just lazing in the water on the pool steps. I must also add that Len was a delight to deal with, both by email and over the phone. “Fantastic 2 weeks in FAB Villa” First time in Kalkan. Kids chose the villa due to the quirky appearance of turrett and shape of pool. Letting the kids choose was a fantastic result. Villa was roomy, excellent position, top service from cleaners and pool man. Owner Len prompt with enquiries and honest answers given to all questions. Nicest place in nicest town that we have stayed in. Decent restaurants nearby but all down the hill. It is a bit of a trek from the town but only if hot (15 min steady walk from a large amount of fab restaurants). Response: Thank You for your review. “Wonderful Holiday!” Villa Guzel is absolutely stunning, the photos on the website do not do the villa justice. We were a group of three couples and found the design perfect, the spiral staircase separating the bedrooms and providing discreet privacy. We particularly liked the cream stone walls and marble flooring and the large lounge and bedrooms which are delightful and tastefully furnished. The views from the villa over Kalkan are beautiful and sitting on the main balcony enjoying either a tipple prior to going out for a meal (or using the bbq), watching the sunset and when dark seeing Kalkan all lit up was magical. The villa must have one of the largest of pools, large steps provide seating in the water, but the pool is one depth which apparantly is the norm in Kalkan which was fine by us, but for small children and non swimmers might prove a problem. The pool was cleaned daily by Murtin, he even washed down the terrace after watering the garden. Your newly planted banana and peach trees are doing fine and when we come next year, which we certainly will (a common view expressed in your visitors book) we hope to pick the fruit. We found Hakan, your agent, discreetly kept an eye on things, saying he was only a phone call away, which proved the case when we needed him. We have been to Kalkan before, our friends hadn't, they thought the locals, restaurants, food, village shops, everything, absolutely wonderful. We read the Villa Guzel guide and the visitors book for valuable information. Lastly, I have to mention Len, you are a star, you were so helpful (and professional) with our email and phone enquiries. “Great Villa, Superb Location” Lovely Villa in a great location, travelled with family and friends, everything you could need. Steep walk down to the town, walk down and taxied back, taxis are reasonable. Ate out and bbq's, fresh fish from the local market stall fantastic value. Would definitely go back. Well what can I say Len and his wife made our booking seemless and the Villa is fantastic. Location is a short walk to the town but far enough away to be peaceful. Kalkan is just amazing.So if you are looking for a more up market holiday this is the place to be.
My wife and I enjoyed it so much last time that we will be going out again this year.
Highly recommended. Thanks again for a great stay.

Had a great time at Villa Guzel, everything you need for a relaxing holiday, superb views across the bay, far enough out of the town for quiet days by the pool but close enough to wander down of an evening. Pool is a great size for swimming and also unlike many other pools in turkey can accomodate non swimmers due to it's stepped area. Hope to return next year.

within walking distance of the resort of Kalkan which has lots of top class restuarants,great shops & bars.
Also within walking distance of the beach.
Car hire recomended to explore the surrounding areas.
All in all we had a lovely week.

For the past ten years I have taken an all "girl" holiday with three old school friends, we try to visit somewhere different each year however Kalkan proved to be well worth returning too. .
We were welcomed at the airport and transported to the Villa with minimum fuss and once inside we knew the whole experience was going to be fabulous! Well appointed and beautifully furnished the Villa is probably the best venue yet! The town itself is a delight with lovely shops and restaurants and only a short walk from Villa Guzel.
We enjoyed boat and bus trips but favourite days were spent by the pool at the Villa anticipating delicious dinner in town. Wonderful.
