The fabulously named Runner Duck Cottage can be found surrounded by glorious Derbyshire countryside in a rural location offering simply stunning views. You can enjoyed these views form the luxury of the new hot tub situated on the patio just beside the cottage. This is for you private use. Set on the grounds of the owners’ home, which is also shared with horses and ducks, the detached cottage is stone built and perfectly placed for outdoor enthusiasts with access to miles of public footpaths direct from the door. Cutthorpe itself is a sleepy village on the edge of the Peak District National Park, with three local pubs and home to the fabulous Linacre Reservoirs with their beautiful bluebell woods and surrounding walks.

A whole host of attractions are within easy reach including the town of Chesterfield famous for its crooked spire, which is just 15 minutes away. The Golden Gates entrance to the magnificent Chatsworth House is approximately 10 minutes away and the main public entrance is just 5 minutes further. The ever popular market town of Bakewell can be reached in around 20 minutes, and Haddon Hall, Bolsover Castle and Hardwick Hall in around half an hour. Matlock with its cable car to the Heights of Abraham, the fascinating plague village of Eyam, and Hathersage famous for its links to Robin Hood and the Eyre family, are all also accessible in around 30 minutes. Carsington Water has cycling routes and sailing available, and can be reached in around 45 minutes and finally for those bigger thrills, Alton Towers can be reached in around an hour. Shop 4¼ miles, pub and restaurant 1 mile.

We welcome guests of all ages to Runner Duck Cottage, although those who find climbing stairs difficult may find it tricky here.
Set well off the road it is a tranquil place apart form the quacking of the ducks!
We're very easy going and on site to help you if needed, but we don't interfere.
You are welcome to bring your drone to fly as were in fairly open countryside and there are some spectacular views. Our super hot tub is ready for you to enjoy during your stay and is for cottage use only

How do damage deposits work?

In most cases, you don’t pay a damage deposit up front. Instead, we save your payment details securely and you’re only charged in the event of damage to the property.

Occasionally, you will pay a damage deposit up front as part of the total rental cost. In this case, the owner has 10 days after you check out to report any damage. If they don’t, we’ll return your deposit. If their claim is successful, we’ll deduct the agreed cost and return the remainder.

How do I edit my booking?

You can request to change the dates or number of people on your booking via the Manage your holiday booking page. To change your holiday dates use the Edit booking button. If you need to change the number of guests staying then send Charlotte (the owner) a message.

If Charlotte (the owner) agrees, they’ll send you a revised quote outlining the changes. You can review and accept/decline this from the Manage your holiday booking page. You’ll have 48 hours to take action before the revised quote expires.
