Crickhowell is easy to reach from all parts of the country, and is an ideal base from which to explore and discover the delights within the Brecon Beacons National Park . From the doorstep, you can enjoy many beautiful and varied walks, or fishing and canoeing on the River Usk. Close to hand you can find many outdoor activities, such as horse-riding or mountain biking. Crickhowell's charming High Street is only a five-minute walk from the cottage, and has variety of interesting shops and plenty of places to enjoy very good local food.

Further afield, you can quickly reach the National Park Visitor Centre, from which you can climb the highest peaks in the Park, and experience the beauty and majesty of Brecon Beacons mountain range at first hand. For historians, there are many of places of interest - castles, churches; ruins etc, and for book-lovers, Hay on Wye, the famous town of books, is only 30 minutes drive away. Also nearby is Ross-on-Wye, with its 13th century church and 17th century Market House, and Hereford, with its superb cathedral and the Mappa Mundi.
