How to get there

Crickhowell is easy to reach from all directions, as it is conveniently sited on the A40 just six miles west of Abergavenny, and twelve miles east of Brecon. From the Midlands or the North of England, it is easiest to get on to the M50 at Tewkesbury, and follow this on to the A40 at Ross-on-Wye, and then on to Abergavenny. Follow the A40 signs through Abergavenny, and then on to Crickhowell. From London or the South of England, it is best to enter Wales on the M4 (over the Severn Bridge) leaving at junction 24, and heading north on the A449, and then turning left at Raglan on to the A40 to Abergavenny. Follow the A40 signs through Abergavenny, and then on to Crickhowell. From Wales it is easiest to find your way to the A40 at either Brecon or Abergavenny, and then on to Crickhowell. On entering Crickhowell from either direction, you will reach the petrol station on the main road, and take the road opposite (New Road) which leads down to the river. Traffic lights control the flow of traffic across the bridge, but you must turn left immediately before you reach the bridge, past the Bridge End Inn and turning back uphill. You are now in Bridge Street, and Ramblers Rest Cottage is number 15 on the right hand side. For more detailed directions, please do not hesitate to ring us as you are approaching.
