“Well worth a five rating” In totally honesty, this was a fantastic place to stay. Sea view of Clare Island alone was worth it. Location fantastic, peaceful surroundings yet minutes from the village which has good restaurants and an excellent chippy. We were a party of 8 adults, 1 child and Kobe our dog. After a long drive and very tired, arriving at the property and still having to cook 9 steaks for dinner, I was dreading the thought… but great kitchen facilities, the double ovens really helped immensely! Accommodation spotlessly clean. Nice comfortable beds. I have had welcome gift packs, in many places in the past but Eammon’s goodie box lasted us for the whole trip…supplied with popcorn, bombay mix, sweets, hot chocolate and loads of other treats, thanks for spoiling us…you really made us feel welcome.

“The perfect house for a (big) family get away!!!” I stayed here in July 2018 with my husband and our family. We had 8 adults of varying ages (35 - 70) and 6 kids staying with us. The house is simply amazing - it has everything you could ask for and really is a home away from home - we brought things from our own home which we did not need to unpack as Annemarie & Michael really have thought of everything - from extra mattresses to welcoming baskets of toiletries and basic food essentials. The hand written welcome card with wine and goodies was an extra special touch. The house was spotless and everyone having their own en-suite bathroom was a godsend. The pictures really do not do the scale of the property justice. The kitchen/diner was the focal point of most of our holiday either sharing meals or relaxing at night around the huge kitchen table playing games. Unusually for us in Ireland we got a week of amazing sunshine and made full use of the BBQ and outdoor furniture. It is extremely spacious, modern and the gardens are huge enough for us to allow our kids to wander around and around and play as much as they want without us worrying as the property is safe and secure. The kids (aged 3 - 12) enjoyed the animals in neighbouring fields and the rabbits running around the garden. The location is amazing and there are loads of shops and bars in Crossmolina itself and it is only a short drive from Ballina. We usually try to get away once a year as a family to Mayo and have done so for the past 10 years or so staying in various different areas such as Belmullet, Westport and in Ballina. We would not event think of staying anywhere else in Mayo after our trip to this property last year - it is within range of Westport, Enniscrone Beach, Castlebar. We loved it so much we have booked to stay there again this year in July. Dealing with Annemarie and Michael has been a pleasure from the start and their guidance, advice and instructions and directions have been amazing. Their personal touch made the experience all the more special. If you are thinking of booking this property just do it - you will not be disappointed. This is how a holiday home should be run - keep up the brilliant work and we will hopefully be back numerous times over the coming years.

“Rockview house” Great house for a family. All mod cons. We especially appreciated the WiFi as we had typical changeable Irish weather! Great spot for exploring the West! Nuala was so helpful and kind and gave us lots of ideas to do in the wet weather. Provided loads of wood and coal for the lovely stove. Definitely recommend for old cottage charm.

“a perfect family holiday location” Six adults and four children stayed here in April this year. Avalon is perfect for a large group lots of room both inside and out. Bedrooms are large and the kitchen /dinning/sitting room has to be seen to be believed. The garden is safe for small kids and the beach is 2 minutes walk away. Everyone grandparents parents and kids had a great time. Michael couldn't have been more helpful We hope to return.

“Great facilities both in the house and the surrounding area, perfect for friends and family.” We booked the house for my parents 50th wedding anniversary and it was ideal for a very large group with a mixture of children with varying ages. The rooms were well equipped, tastefully decorated and clean. The snug and large sitting room was perfect for us to gather and chat which we did every night. Clifden is a great town with fantastic shops, bars and restaurants and the location of the house was perfect. If I could make a suggestion it would be to put a traditional dishwasher in the house as the bottle washer didnt meet our needs.

“The dream holiday home!” I stayed in this holiday home with my husband and 2-year-old son in early July. This was without a shadow of a doubt the most beautiful holiday home we have ever stayed in. The floor-to-ceiling corner windows in both the living room and the master bedroom have spectacular sea views towards Achill and Belmullet. The standard of furnishing throughout the house is extremely high. We loved the spacious and comfortable living area with big sofas, the large dining table, the beautifully-appointed kitchen that was a joy to cook in, and the enormous rain-water shower in the main bathroom. The whole house is airy and bright, yet cosy with its underfloor heating. There is also a games room which would be good for older children. The house is all on one floor, which was great for our toddler as we didn't have to worry about stairs. The beach is a few minutes' walk away, and the house had bikes we could use to get around. Nearest pub/corner shop is around a five-minute drive. This house is really remote, which is what we were looking for. We would go back in a heartbeat!

“Beautiful, Warm & Welcoming” We set out on a journey to discover our heritage and see if we had any living relatives in Co. Mayo Ireland. We arrived on an unseasonably cold and blustery day so when we opened the door to the house and were welcomed by the warmth of heat we were delighted. Teach Mo Chroi' was our home base but turned out to be so much more. It is truly a lovely home. The rooms were very spacious and the beds incredibly comfortable after a long day of touring. The kids enjoyed playing soccer and especially the tire swing, but the highlight was watching the fathers and sons play basketball together. It turned out to be one of the best family vacations we've ever taken. There were so many places to visit in the area; a boat ride from ashford Castle to the island was among our favorites. But don't miss Ballintubber abbey, Achill Island, Climbing Croagh Patrick and especially the nightlife in Westport town. Everything was so easily accessible and convenient. The home is furnished with everything you could possibly need or want for cooking, and with so many Satellite channels it was easy to keep the kids entertained. Maura our hostess was warm and friendly and helpful. We were especially impressed with how clean the home was when we arrived and how easily it handled our large group of 11 adults & children. I will recommend the home to others and hope we can find another excuse to visit again in the future. If there was any disappointment it was that we were unable to find any living relatives but our visit to Mayo and Teach Mo Chroi more than made up for that disappointment.

“just perfect” We had a wonderful week here, the cottage was spotless, spacious, well equipped, and in a lovely and peaceful garden setting with wonderful views. The very friendly welcome included a log fire and a bunch of flowers! Centrally located for touring this wonderful area, and a pleasant walk to the village for all the amenities, it suited us down to the ground. Would love to go again sometime!
