“Well worth a five rating” In totally honesty, this was a fantastic place to stay. Sea view of Clare Island alone was worth it. Location fantastic, peaceful surroundings yet minutes from the village which has good restaurants and an excellent chippy. We were a party of 8 adults, 1 child and Kobe our dog. After a long drive and very tired, arriving at the property and still having to cook 9 steaks for dinner, I was dreading the thought… but great kitchen facilities, the double ovens really helped immensely! Accommodation spotlessly clean. Nice comfortable beds. I have had welcome gift packs, in many places in the past but Eammon’s goodie box lasted us for the whole trip…supplied with popcorn, bombay mix, sweets, hot chocolate and loads of other treats, thanks for spoiling us…you really made us feel welcome.

“Fantastic, well equipped cottage in a quiet rural location 5 mins walk from the sea” We spent a lovely few days in Donna's cottage. The cottage is beautiful, with 4 spacious bedrooms and a well equipped kitchen. The children were safe playing outside as there is quite a large grass area at the side of the house and the country lane had hardly any passing traffic. It was only 5 mins walk to the local beach and 10 mins in the car to the nearby surf beach where the children hired body boards. I would definitely recommend this cottage to anyone.

“Wonderful holiday in this quaint charming cottage” Situated in the village with a short drive to Traught beach, a beautiful blank sandy beach on the wild Atlantic way. The cottage had everything we needed and the kids loved it. We had a fantastic time and Michael the owner was wonderful and so accommodating. We would definitely visit again.

“Breathtaking view!” We stayed in the Penthouse apartment, which has a gorgeous panoramic view from all the rooms of the sea. The service is simple, but perfect; it was warm, everything worked, it was clean, the beds were big and really comfy. We loved it. Salthill itself is a 25 min walk from central Galway - along the seafront - but if you're feeling lazy there's loads of taxis and buses. Would definitely go back.

“Perfect family friendly spacious cottage with added games room” This was our second time staying at Carrickport Cottage and I can highly recommend everything about it, it's beautifully presented and has everything on hand for young children, including the owner's lovely friendly dogs! The games room has been a big hit with the children and adults alike on both our visits and is a real bonus to the cottage. It is very spacious with three bedrooms and two bathrooms and the setting is really tranquil. It's very close to the beautiful town of Carrick on Shannon and other local attractions. Many thanks to Helen again for accommodating us and we hope to return again!
