Just a few miles away is picturesque Llangollen, home of the annual International Musical Eisteddfod and the Llangollen Steam Railway. The unique horse drawn boats operate along the canal from Llangollen Wharf. Also close by are the wonderful National Trust properties at Chirk Castle and Erddig, whilst the historic city of Chester, with its shopping, cathedral and city walls, is within easy reach.
