“Beautiful, modern, cosy accommodation”

Reviewed 8 Jan 2015

We came with our family the weekend before Christmas to celebrate. The Owlbarn is beautiful. The living space is incredibly spacious. There were 8 adults and 2 children and we never felt on top of each other at any point. The kitchen is very well equipped and there were quite a few essentials left which is nice. All the bedrooms are beautifully decorated and the bathrooms wonderful. The bunk bedroom off one of the bedrooms is a great feature for any families with children. The hot tub is also an added bonus! The owners are very approachable and came to welcome us and check everything was ok. Would highly recommend!

Thank you so much for your lovely comments we are thrilled that you liked the barn so much and had such a great family break.

“Owl Barn matched the relaxed welcome of its owners.”

We are a large family who have rented many properties over the years, on arrival we approach the properties with anticipation. Owl Barn certainly topped our list, set in quiet picturesque countryside it is a well proportioned property with plenty of space for a large family of varying ages, the house is well equipped. The owners live nearby, they are available but respect your privacy. We will have no hesitation to return.

“Perfect stay, beautiful barn, lovely owners!! X”

I would recommend staying here 100% I stayed here with my family and friends for my hen weekend and could not fault it at all! The barn was beautiful, the rooms were so clean, the owners were lovely, leaving us a welcome basket of bread, butter, milk, crips and chocolate, not forgetting the bottle of fizz to go with it!! There were towels for all the guests, the hot tub was so warm and relaxing!! The kitchen was lovely to cook in, no utensils/dishes needed at all! Fully equipped kitchen with dishwasher, washing machine and tumble dryer! We've all said how we want to go back already!! Maybe for the anniversary!! A truely unforgettable weekend, and all possible because of the brilliant communication with the owners!! Everyone should stay here!! Xx

Awww thank you so much for your lovely review,we're so glad that you all had such a great time!

“A BEAUTIFUL, SPACIOUS, AND IMMACULATE COTTAGE”

Reviewed 4 Feb 2014

WOW! Owl barn was amazing. I rented it for my 30th birthday with 9 friends and 1 baby, and it was fasntastic. It was defineatly worth the price we paid! £750. The cottage is much bigger than the pictures show - and it is all immaculatly decorated throughout. The house is warm all day, which is good considering the size of it. The fire works brilliantly, and gets everyone roastingly hot! Kitchen was fully stocked with everything we needed, even dishwasher tabs! The only small downside was the fridge was a little small for 10 people, - we put most of the alcohol and wine outside as there was not enough room, but we managed. Owners and communication was good, and a lovely welcome hamper greeted us upon arrival. The room were great - even the single beds were spacious and confortable and everyone got a good nights rest. Hot tub was amazing as well! We would defineatly go back, and can;t recommend it enough! THANK YOU OWL BARN!

Awww thank you for such a lovely review,we're so glad that you had such a great time in Owl Barn.

“Wonderful, clean and spacious property with very helpful owners.”

I would have no hesitation in recommending Owl Barn. It has been beautifully converted with a curved, sweeping gallery looking down from the upstairs lounge to the open plan kitchen and dining room below. There is a seating area downstairs too so it provides a very social, entertaining space. We stayed there over Christmas and when we arrived it had been very tastefully decorated with two real Christmas trees upstairs and down. The owners were extremely helpful beforehand with advice and information and provide a boxful of games and toys for children which meant we didn't need to bring so much for our three (2, 4 and 6). We really couldn't have asked for more.

Thanks so much for your lovely review we really do appreciate it. So glad that you had such a great Christmas at Owl Barn it is very important to us that families have a wonderful time especially over Christmas.

“There is only one word to describe Owl Barn.....fabulous!”

We have just returned from a great long weekend at Owl Barn & want to go back already! It's the perfect location to relax, unwind and enjoy the company of good friends. The weather was very kind to us so we managed our first BBQ of the year and enjoyed watching the stars at night from the fantastic hot tub! The owners have done a great job converting the barn - the living space is huge and everything is to a really high standard. With lovely little touches such as a welcome hamper to help get us settled in, we could not recommend it enough!

Thank you so much for your lovely comments.Glad you enjoyed yourselves so much and we hope to see you again sometime.

“A great place for a family celebration.”

This beautiful barn conversion, flooded with natural light, is in a quiet and secluded location. The owners have paid great attention to the design of all the facillities so that the needs of every member of our party of 6 adults and 4 children were met. The barn's garden and hot tub, as well as walks of varying lengths from the property, added to a very enjoyable experience.

“Excellent accommodation for a family or group holiday.”

Reviewed 27 Apr 2012

We had a brilliant weeks stay at Owl Barn with our family & friends. The barn was spotlessly clean, very well designed and spacious and is located in peaceful countryside. There was everything you could need for a family holiday, including toys, games and stairgates. The kitchen is a pleasure to cook in and the seating area downstairs makes cooking a meal very sociable. The lounge upstairs is stunning with exposed beams, glass floor areas and a lovely woodburner for cold rainy days! The week we stayed was typical April showers but despite the weather we still had a brilliant time, the barn is large enough (even at full capacity) for the children to play and us not all to be falling over each other. The hot tub and the garden were thoroughly enjoyed too when the sun did come out. There is lots to explore in the surrounding area and the countryside is pretty with gentle rolling hills, great for walking and exploring. We would definately return to Owl Barn.

“Fantastic treat for girlie weekend, whether total relaxation needed or getting out to see the local area”

We are a group of 8 ladies ranging from 20+ to 70+ yrs and everyone agrees that this is a fabulous property. Rebecca & Martin are a lovely friendly couple, who are very welcoming. Once inside Owl Barn the "wow factor" immediately hits you. Superbly presented in all aspects and attention to detail is evident to ensure a welcoming gesture prevails. We would highly recommend Owl Barn as the perfect get-away location. Owl Barn is spotless, has a small hot tub, huge kitchen/dining area with plenty of equipment and a long table with plenty of seating for all to enjoy meals. The bathrooms are lovely, 2 have showers and 2 have baths. The upstairs area has 2 very large sofas and a woodburning stove, which in January, was fantastic! We have only 2 minor downsides - we would prefer more single beds, of the 4 bedrooms only 1 has single beds, singles can always be pushed together if required, and a larger hot tub would be fantastic! Saying that, we have visited twice, and have rebooked for next year as we love the Barn. You can totally chill out and not do anything, or you can go for walks, or hop in the car and visit the local towns. Absolutely superb location, very peaceful.

Thank you so much for your lovely review it's great to have returning guests there really can't be a greater compliment!! Yes we take on board the single bed comment not everyone ones to be that 'cosy'.See you again next year!!!

“ideal venue for family party”

Reviewed 20 Feb 2012

We wanted somewhere to celebrate my wife's birthday where we could accommodate our children and grandchildren plus a couple of my wife's close friends. Owl Barn has been converted to a very high standard with high quality furnishings - the beds are very comfortable. It is very spacious, bigger than it looks on the website. The open plan downstairs living area meant there was plenty of room for the cooks, another area with 2 sofas where the kids could watch TV, read etc and a large dining table on the other side of the room - just masses of space opening out on to the patio through huge glass doors. The hot tub was a massive hit, there's something very surreal about sitting in your swimming trunks at midnight under a clear starlight sky when its -6C. Upstairs there was nearly as much room again with really big sofas and a log burner where we relaxed after dinner watching the TV. The bedrooms were all plenty big enough with high quality ensuite facilities. Plenty of things to do and see not too far away and it looked a great area for walks. We invited another 6 friends to join us for lunch on the Sunday and there was still more than enough room - everyone who was there was really impressed and would go again without hesitation.

Thanks so much for your comments it's so great to hear that a celebration went well and all your guests enjoyed it too! Also that the barn looks even better than on the website.
