The Dimora Storica is a historic luxury villa of Positano, the pearl of the Amalfi Coast.
It was built as an Episcopal residence in 1716 in a baroque age.
It was furnished handsomely with masterpieces from the Middle East and other parts of the world, thanks to the fact that Positano was situated along the main trade route of spices and silk.
The merchants stopped here, fascinated by the magic atmosphere of the town, leaving not only works of art, but a mix of cultures of ancient
populations.
The Dimora Storica showcases this heritage with its painted ceiling, lacquered doors, inlaid-wood furniture, stucco-works and the ancient laces hand-made by the master craftsmen of that time. Since '900 Positano became the alcove of artists and literary men like Edward Ghillausen and Eva Maria Vivaldi.
Guests can reach Dimora Storica from the main road SS Amalfitana and then down a flight of steps. The entrance of the villa opens into a wide driveway that leads to the villa and a detached laundry room.
The main building is composed of four floors and two entrances: one on the fourth floor, with a garden, and one on the second floor.
The fourth level consists of a guest room with a bed of one and half and a bathroom with shower, a double room with sea view, en suite bathroom with
shower, another double room with sea view, en suite bathroom with shower, and a terrace equipped with chairs and sun beds and garden.
Third level: two sea view suites, each consisting of a bedroom and a
sitting room, en suite bathroom, with a terrace.
Second floor: dining room and sitting room with desk, PC, fax, telephone and printer. There is a kitchen with fireplace, a central hob, two ovens, one of which is a wood oven for pizza, a kneader, a coffee machine, two fridges, and a freezer. There always is a chef at the disposal of guests. The kitchen is connecting with a dining room with a six seat table. Kitchen and dining room opens on to a wide sea view terrace equipped with tables, chairs and electric curtains.
First floor constitutes of a Spa with a private chapel, heated pool,
terrace with fountain, Turkish bath, sauna, three spa showers,
relaxation room with plasma satellite TV.
Pets considered (on request).
SECURITY DEPOSIT: euros 10.000 with credit card before the arrival.
Weeks of Easter, Christmas and New Year will be considered the high season.
Services: electricity, water, heating gas, firewood, air conditioning, final cleaning, Pc desktop available, Ipad, music sound system/Ipod connection (inside & outside), mini bar (Included in all the rooms), pool towels, change of linen and bathroom towels, daily cleaning, gardening, staff (• Chef (8 hours per day);• Concierge (8 hours per day);• Cleaning lady (from 8 am to 4 pm). Extra time € 25 per hour).
Cooking service, loundry service (Underwear included; extra laundry € 25 per machine), safe (Included in all the rooms),
porter service (Included from Monday to Saturday, from 8 am until 6 pm. On Sunday or outside the indicated time € 10/15 per suitcase).
Continental breackfast, food & drinks (Not Included. € 2000 cash deposit to be paid upon arrival).
Parking (Not included. € 30 per day a car and €50 per day for a van or bigger car, valet service included).
